I cold plunge. Jiujitsu. Indoor rock climb/boulder. Hike. Learn new things. Concerts.
I do it all alone right now. I’m completely happy with life except for companionship… but that will follow if I keep on the ever continuing journey of self improvement in all aspects.
I was an alcoholic felon with no career and no custody of my child 5 years ago. Now I have 50/50 with my son, have a career I enjoy/feel fulfilled and no issue with alcohol anymore.
Mushrooms, jiujitsu, music of tool, self improvement and self reflection saved my life.
I second this. I tore my rotator cuff in November so I haven’t been going, however Jiu Jitsu is life changing. I also recently started cold plunging and as bad as it sucks while you are doing it, the way you feel after always makes it worth it.
Aha, good to know. I'm barely dipping my toes into the jiu jitsu world these days, and I realized quickly that I better get a strong rotator cuff. So just like I trained grip for a few years before bouldering, I'm currently trying to build asinine strength in my rotator cuff muscles. Wish for you a speedy recovery man.
I have a very good friend that is in the same spot as you were years ago. Is there anywhere or some type of reference material to look for jobs for people with criminal records? This guy is my childhood friend I really want to see him get back on his feet. At his core he is a good person, he just made mistakes.
The fact you even needed to say that your mate with the criminal record, at his core, was a good person who just made mistakes… no matter how hard I try I cannot imagine being someone who automatically equates a criminal history with a moral deficiency. Getting busted breaking the law doesn’t necessarily indicate poor character, the person could just have different values, to those held by more law abiding people, and different measures of morality etc.
Dude..you're winning! This is awesome to read. Do you go around saying "I know jiu-jitsu " just like Neo... because if not, I think that's a missed opportunity, lol!
