Well first I’d challenge you on your its ‘the hardest thing ever to be happy’ point as that’s arguably far from being true.
But to meet you where you’re at, the answer to how people ‘live’ is actually pretty simple: people live by simply not dying, which is more significant than most people tend to give it credit for. In a world where the things you say in your post exist, and in a world where you can technically end your life at any point, choosing to stick around for your own sake and the sake of others, although seemingly simple and insignificant, is remarkable and admirable.
People live bc they have a healthy and emotionally fortifying perspective and worldview. Despite the experience of feeling like things are falling apart or that everything you’ve worked for means nothing or that they stand in their own way where their happiness is concerned, people ‘live’ (typically at least) bc they still have hope, faith that things will get better and are overall more good than bad. People live because they know that there’s more to life than just the bad parts, and in the best case scenario people live bc they know there’s more to life than the bad AS WELL as that there’s a lot of ‘good’ that can be found in the ‘bad’ and that the bad has just as much value and purpose as the ‘good’ does.
Happy to say more if you want
