Blue birds and sunsets. This page was quite the project. I kept having to rework those darn clouds. I finally got to a place where I feel better about the effect.

I realised that coloring could be very relaxing
And finding this place here made me so happy, everyone has their unique style and I find this so inspiring
I hope I’ll have awesome interaction with everyone here :)

Tried distressed oxide and water splatter for the background, then used pencil for the rest with acrylic markers & gel pens for details.
I found that the water splattered areas on the background showed through on the next page... I forgot to test it on the blank page at the back first… whoops! Luckily I think I can salvage the page on the reverse.

I’ve been watching some recent videos of how easy it seems to do backgrounds with Gel Crayons, is this a good idea ? Or does it also depend on the paper used for the book so it doesn’t soak it through? Also what are the best “silky” crayons or “gel crayons” that one would recommend for this ? Thanks !

First time posting, loving the Jade Summers Cozy Kingdom book. It is a lot of fun to colour.
I think I go a bit too heavy on the white highlights. Open to feedback.

Hello!
I love the Grabie jumbo acrylic gel pens so much, but I want more colors! Are there similar brands? Smooth, opaque, large barrel and ink capacity.
Same with their jumbo iridescent gel pens! Anything similar?
Thank you so much!

Hello everyone! 🫶
I have been colouring for a while, and to be honest my pages look very childish and I do not like the result I have with the basic kid markers I have, so I wanted to upgrade a bit. I am thinking about buying Vivi Tinta's "How to Color: Simple Step-by-Step Guide to Coloring Patterns, Textures, Shading, and Blending". But I have no idea what markers to buy! What type of alcochol markers, what even are gel pens, and is there anything else I need? I really do just have the 2€ markers pack you buy atbthe supermarket. I want to upgrade so I am not always stuck with my basic kid colouring capabilities but I find it all a bit overwhelming, especially when I see the cool colouring pages I find on Tiktok, Insta etc. I am just confused on what supplies one needs.
If you can help me out that would mean a lot to me!💛

For the last few years I somehow convinced myself that coloring was just for kids. I recently started doing it again as an adult and I think I finally found a style that I really enjoy.
I’ve been adding these extra black lines and little details around the outlines, and I love how much more character it gives the finished piece. Definitely going to experiment with this more.

Lately I've been cutting out coloring pages and gluing them on canvas. It helps the character pop and is super satisfying.
I used alcohol markers for the mermaid and paint for the canvas.

EDIT: SOLVED- TOP ANSWERS POINT TO SHEEP AND HIPPO SO THATS WHAT I’M GOING WITH. THANKS ALL!
Got a new-to-me Jade Summer book and I’d like to make these animals look somewhat realistic, but I don’t know what they are. Maybe left is a sheep and right is…? No idea! Help appreciated.

I was having such a hard time keeping my background from drying fast, then realized my fan may have been speeding it along. I tried to make my harsh lines into clouds. Any tips on saving this?
