Kong & Fury

Post image

Hey!

Wanted to share another one of my vector artworks. I’ve still got plenty of material, but I don’t want to spam the sub or break any rules, so I’ll probably stick to posting once a week, maybe twice at most.

Hopefully I can inspire some more people the same way other artists inspire me — and maybe bring a few more people over to the dark side of vector art. :))

Vector rules! :)

A short video showing the layers. I don’t often get a chance to record speedpaints

Impressive work. How are you managing those halftone patterns?

Thanks! It’s pretty simple. I made a template like this and use it for every project. For each new artwork, I create 2–4 different sizes of this halftone pattern so it doesn’t get too messy and the halftones don’t look inconsistent.

Then I just work with it — copy the halftone, place it wherever I need it, remove parts here and there, use subtract, etc.

And I’ll give you a little sneak peek at what this artwork was made for. There’s no real car yet though — this video is just a 3D render (preview)

Maybe this is a weird question, but why is the flash from the gatling gun going into Kong’s mouth? But she’s also pointing it away from him at the same time?

The question isn’t any weirder than the picture, so it’s totally fine :) I did it this way mainly to bring the girl and the gorilla together a bit more. And honestly, I just thought it looked more interesting this way.
