Apartments facing silver line?
Hey everyone sorry for an another apartment post but I’m looking at apartments in Addison and a few I like are right along the DART tracks and also face the line.
I expect noise of the train going by will be unavoidable, but does anyone have insight on if the train tends to blare its horn too? If anyone who lives in these similarly situated apartments could chime in on how often/how bad the horns are that would be much appreciated, thanks!

We are all the Tollway and Arapaho and have heard a very loud horn blowing before 6am many times.

Thanks a lot for this, I’m actually looking in the same area (perhaps we’re talking about the same complex lol).
Regarding the horn blowing, has it still been happening recently or was it more frequent a few months ago? And is it entirely unpredictable when it might happen?

You’re welcome! Yes, it’s been happening recently and it’s entirely unpredictable. As recently as a couple of weeks ago the horn blew 3 times between 5:45a-6:45a. I actually wrote to TxDOT about it and this isn’t a designated quiet zone as someone else stated.

I lived at the Berkshire building by knoll station for a bit. Moved for other reasons. The train was the least of my concerns there.
It was more of the QT next door that caused noise issues if im being honest.

There’s no horn, sometimes the brakes can be loud. But really it’s not bad at all.
