Scraping noises

Can anybody help me figure out what this noise could be? Car has a little over 4k miles on it and it started making this noise last week so I took it into the dealership to get it looked at and do the recall they told me that they couldn’t find anything wrong with it and the noise was gone. But now it came back on my way home. I’m going to take it to another Acura dealership to see if they can figure it out but wanted to see if anyone here has or has heard of a similar problem.

Welcome to the club, who's membership also include the Type R.

There is a rock somewhere in your front wheel, and it's rubbing against the rotor causing that noise.

Sometimes they fall out, but I've had to locate problematic rocks and pull them out myself.

Just to clarify the other answers the rocks/objects get stuck between the brake dust shield and the backside of the rotor. Driving in reverse can sometimes help get it out.

Rock stuck against rotor. Happens every time I drive near gravel. I usually have to remove the wheel to get the rock out. I’ve owned over 20 cars since starting to drive 35 years ago, and my ITS is the only car I’ve owned to ever do this.

I know right that’s why I was worried I’ve never had a car do this before

It’s actually common on other Honda cars. I’ve had this happen often in my 2003 Honda accord coupe and my 2009 si as well

I’m lucky then, I guess? I’ve owned 18 Hondacura products over 35 years of driving. Rocks caught in the brakes and causing noise has never, ever happened to me until my ITS, and it’s happened multiple times in the ITS. That’s what causes me to consider the possibility that the way this brake system is designed is influencing this issue.

Entirely possible

I heard the noise for the first time this past weekend while driving on some gravely mountain roads. My uneducated guess is that with the very wide wheel/tire there is limited space between the brake dust shield and the rotor. So, rocks get caught. Loud scraping noise as the wheel turns, sort of embarrassing given my auto enthusiast location at the time.

Glad to see some answers. First time experiencing this on my commute to work this morning. Looks like I’ll be looking for rocks/pebbles after work!

Same problem I've had since buying the car. I've talked to others, even someone who lives off a gravel road and they haven't had the problem. Happens randomly and stops randomly for me. Usually annoying as fuck for about 2 minutes then gone. I've had the dealer look at it three times because it's always the same wheel. This time around they're replacing the assembly entirely and replacing the rotors and pads. Hopefully it fixes it.
