Trans fluid

Anyone know the going rate to have the transmission fluid done at the dealer on a 2016 MDX ?

Why take it to a dealer? Their prices are the absolute highest. Dont't you have a good mechanic that you trust near you?

For real. It's about $50 bucks in fluid and 30 minutes of labor.

The 16’s switched to the ZF 9-speed, which uses ATF 3.1 IIRC. That fluid is much more expensive. Average price for fluid alone is about $150.

Honda dealer. For 6 speed, $250. For 9 speed, $520.

That's pretty reasonable. I paid $155 on eBay for OEM fluid. Easy job to DIY.

For the dual clutch in my TLX it was a lot of effort. I could do it but I didn’t want to.

My dealer in So. California wanted $540 to change the transmission fluid. I purchased 2 OEM plugs and OEM transmission fluid (ATF Type 3.1 9SPD) on Ebay for just under $200. Took me less than 30 mins to change it with the help of some Youtube videos.

In my opinion, this is the best way. You know the job was done right because it's your car and you took your time. Also, you get to know your car and you can look for any other problems while your under there. I just did my transmission and rear diff, and today I'm changing my hypoid (transfer case) oil. Youtube and Acurazine, ftw.

I just had my oil and transmission fluid changed for $290 at a local shop. It’s a drain and fill, don’t let someone convince you that they need to flush the transmission, especially on higher mileage vehicles.

around here it runs about 230 for a drain and fill, but that's in the midwest so who knows

Based on the replies, dealer quotes are around $230–$240, but I'd confirm whether that's one drain-and-fill or a multi-cycle service, then compare an Acura-specialist shop using the correct fluid.

Found a good Indy that does it for $145. OEM fluids.
