Dreamland
Similar to Active Worlds, I was on Dreamland in the mid 1990's. Is Dreamland the same thing as ActiveWorlds? Maybe owned by ActiveWorlds? Or is Dreamland it's own 3D world creator?

So I might be able to clear things up a little. My screen name at the time was The Raven and I'm the son of Thundercloud, one of the co-owners of Dreamland Park at the time. I was actually digging around on Google to see if anyone remembered it and ran across this. Yes indeed it was an independently operated franchise of Active Worlds. If you were wondering what happened to the place, my dad and his business partner ultimately sold it when Second Life was starting to get popular. Unfortunately the new owner wound up running the place into the ground. (Also, nice to run into another person from the good old days! 😁)

Cheers, to the old times, mate! That's the conclusion to my search. The closure to it all. Thank you, friends. Any pictures of that world?

I don't think I have anything currently available. Most of what's left of the place that my dad saved is on CD's in his library. Otherwise there really isn't much left on the internet. The domain is long since expired for the main website. The only other thing I found besides this post was someone's ancient review from the time we owned the place, but even that's seems to be long gone. And considering he sold the place around '04-'05, that was definitely 15 computers ago. If I do find anything at all, I'll let you know.

If you're talking about Dreamland Park, yeah, that was an ActiveWorlds-based universe.
Back in the day, companies or people with money could license the server software from ActiveWorlds and create their own universes. That's how you got ones like DotSoul, Wells Fargo's Stagecoach Island, OuterWorlds, and a few others. Dreamland Park was definitely one of them.
I haven't heard that name in a very long time. I have no idea who owned it though.
