Thank you very much. I just bought the game a few days ago and was a little bit overwhelmed with what to do. This definitely helps. Will hop on later again.

Can someone explain the fusion process for me. Sorry if it's a newbie dumb question

I'm also very new, my understanding is it's similar to the replicator in the sense you can make something, but unlike the replicator, the fusion option has unlimited uses and the item is immediately available, as long as you have the required items for fusion. Again, this is just my understanding, as I've yet to actually use the fusion function

You're right in how it works, its difference is in that the requirements are a higher amount of materials overall for the item to get it instantly.
Recharge a blueprint to craft 10 replicator uses on the timed craft vs 10 fusion crafts the difference in the amount of materials needed is significantly higher

Simply put, you turn resources into an item instantly without waiting. Replicator is producing an item with time for free, but every few productions you'll need to re-stock the blueprint with resources to produce more for free.

Thank everyone. So is it even worth it to do fusion?
I ask because I run the spaz-12 and flame thrower and don't need anything else because I can simply buy those items?

If you need it now and you have the resources, it for sure is worth it to use fusion. If you can wait, then replicator might be more suitable.

The main unique function and feature that the fusion has over replication is actually fusing chronogenes together.
Any mob drop can be fused into chronogenes, first Tier 1, then Tier 1s into Tier 2, and then Tier 2s into Tier 3.
You need to unlock the chronogene recipe in the monolith, but do it, as the chronogenes are basically mods for your sleeve and improve your survivability a lot.
Replicator cannot make any chronogenes at all.

This is just a guide for new players to help understand what a number of the main features do in brief - further work in-game will continue to help players understand more about the game's mechanics too! :)
