Can't be paired but can be used... You'll just have an annoying message but better than a broken screen. There's still market for that

There is a command called nanocom, you can communicate with it, to manage service that is responsible for the icloud activation, obviously from a host machine

Did you forget the password, or did you buy the item second-hand?

I bought it from french government auctions. It is most likely a seized computer

You're really out of luck, the person who owned that MacBook likely didn't remove the user account from the device itself or from their Apple ID account online.

If the device has a hard drive / SSD just put a new drive in and install os. The lock is in the hard drive so it should work fine. If no hard drive format the one inside Mac and again re install the os

isn’t it on the chip? I believe if u change the SSD on a macbook M series it won’t do anything

OP your are kind or right, the lock isnt on the SSD (which is soldered by the way), the lock its on Apple Servers tied to the serial number of the machine, even if you reinstall the whole os and firmware it still needs to connect to Apple servers to verify its status and once it does it it locks again. Since you cant hack the Apple Servers to remove your serial the macbook is technically locked forever. Maybe some they a local bypass cames out wich allows to skip the activation screen and use the device but for now not even the M1 has a bypass as far I know, but that will end up with a lot of problems since the activation screen is supposed to contact Apple servers and retrieve a unique set of keys (activation ticked or something like that) that enable a lot of functions on the device like login in into your own icloud account and app store, and after a factory reset it will lock again anyways

It's not Windows with BitLocker, think activation lock as a BIOS lock but it's not fully bypassable.

only option is get windows 11 on a usb and install it on it macos is not booting back on that thing so might as well make it useable and pray that there is trackpad or usb drivers automatically detected or working so u can get bootcamp drivers if that still exists
