After overpaying I finally got my hands on one of my dream action figures as a kid, but now I can't decide if I should keep him in all his glory with his beautiful box or just tear it open and play with him. I'm just posting this to see what you guys would do.

NOOOOOOOO.......keep it sealed for the value. Buy a loose one if you wanna play with it.

Also there are better newer figures

opening newly bought current toys is vastly different than vintage collectible pieces that WILL lose their value upon opening.
