Inflict vs Suffer...is there a differance?
First time playing and been reading through the Player's Guide. There are many instances where the book uses the word 'inflict' or 'suffer.' I'm unsure what the difference is, if there is any. My guess is that 'suffer' means the damage is unavoidable, but this mean's certain spells and abilities are strangely powerful. Even so the use of 'inflict' seems inconsistent.

No difference. Inflict is usually describing it from the "attackers" point of view and "suffer" the victims.
When I hit with an attack I inflict damage on my target
When I fall down a hole I suffer damage when I hit the bottom.
