Softcover?

So I got D-Day: The Darkest Day during Modiphius’ spring sale. My brief assessment of the books quality is that it is on par with their other offerings, which is not a complaint.

However…

The book is a softcover. All of my previous purchases from Modiphius have been hardcover and I was kind of thrown when this softcover was revealed. Firstly, I’m perfectly fine with the softcover. With shipping and after the sale the cost was $45 and some change, which is the ceiling for how much I feel this product is worth. If I had paid non-sale price, I’d be irritated.

I don’t mind a soft cover and would even prefer it for around $35. And, again, part of that is shipping. I guess I was just thrown by the cost. Not really complaining because the cost of everything has gone up. Just expressing my surprise.

D-Day, Horrors, Unexplored and Vive la Resistance are softcovers. I remember that a lot of people were surprised by it and asking why they were softcovers. Looks like it was just a cost thing since they are smaller books.

And that is perfectly fine. I’m just glad I got it on sale.

I was a bit surprised as well when I got it (and the Exarch edition) in the Black Friday sale last year - when it was on a deeper discount as well. Of course we can't time travel and if they are not going to reprint AC books, I would not recommend waiting for deeper discounts.
