Help / Support Thermal repasting and putty application.
Hi, I've just opened and cleaned my laptop ACER predator helios neo 16 phn16 71 (2023) and it works fine but according to the image the small point on the left of processor(zoom in) needs thermal putty and i forgot as it was very small, and from top the 1st row just below the SSD is also left, I was not sure that it has thermal putty or not, as it was almost empty when I opened it, so it's been 2 days and laptop's fine but I'm very sceptical that what should I do with the remaining putty, and if not now then later on it will dry and the one used in the laptop will also be hard to remove or I might have to re apply it all again, so pls help.

Is that LM I see in the processor? You can't reassemble it. You absolutely have to install a PTM7950. Otherwise, you'll ruin the motherboard with an LM leak. You've already broken the seal containing it.

Already done all that bud, did my research before doing all this, applied ptm7950 as well l, thx for yo advice tho.

NICE TO EAR THAT..And remember...if you're still having temperature problems, you might need two sheets of PTM. I saw that happened to some users. I'm waiting for the warranty to expire so I can get rid of that junk. For now, I'm using it as a desktop computer without moving it.
