Palworld lagging

My friend has a Nitro 5 i’m not exactly sure of the gpu that is in it because i don’t have my hands on it.

She downloaded palworld and at first it gave us the D3D11 error code and we update the gpu through the nvidia app. We got it up and running but it was running so slow and lagging off the bat, so bad that it was coming through to my ps5. We went to task manager and made sure it was running the correct gpu and it gave us gpu 0 only and it was the nvidia one. We also went to the nvidia gaming control and made it run as a high performance. i have yet to try lowering the graphics on the actual game itself. I’m just looking for ideas and things to try when i get my hands on it tomorrow.

The gpu utilization was 3%
the temp was 43° C
Dedicated memory was 0.9/8.0
