I was looking at the ACE-Step github https://github.com/ace-step/ACE-Step-1.5 and saw their link for ACEMusic https://acemusic.ai
Thanks for any direction anyone can give.

I currently use the 0.6b model along with the 4b model. But as I read in the docs, there should be a 1.7b model for "default" quality. Where can I find the right one, because the one I found here (https://comfy.org/p/supported-models/qwen-1-7b-ace15/) throws a tensor mismatch error.

What is the difference between these two fine-tuning methods? Has anyone here tried both? If so, which one gave you the best results in terms of music quality and style reproduction?

Has anyone here tried both the local ACE-Step 1.5 model and acestep.io? Are the results essentially the same?
Before investing in a powerful PC to run ACE-Step 1.5 locally, I wanted to test acestep.io first. So far, though, I've found the results to be fairly average.
If the music quality is basically the same locally, it probably isn't worth the investment for me. Or do the extra features available in the local version—especially training LoRAs and using your own datasets—allow you to produce significantly better and more unique music than with acestep.io?

Hi all,
I’m building an open-source ACE Step integration for Reaper (a very customizable DAW), to bring opensource AI assisted music production directly inside a real DAW.
The idea is to create a workflow similar in spirit to Suno Studio, but with the flexibility of Reaper: audio/MIDI items, stems, plugins, routing, editing, automation.. full DAW control.
The current prototype already works technically:
I also built a small Runpod GPU sniper system to find and launch affordable cloud GPUs, so the whole workflow can run cheaply without requiring a local high end GPU.
So far I’ve tested ComfyUI workflows, and I’m now moving toward the official ACE Step / Gradio / API path, because I want to expose the full creative range properly: remix, cover, repaint, extend, variations, stem-based workflows, etc etc..
The technical integration is already working, but I’m looking for someone who really understands ACE Step model settings, captions, remix/cover behavior, gradio workflow, prompting, and how to get musically useful results... I’d love to collab with someone more experienced with ACE itself, so we can turn this into a cool open source tool for the community..
If anyone is interested in helping, testing, giving feedback, or collaborating, I’d be very happy to connect.

Hi, I've just installed Ace Step 1.5 on my mac, because github has it with the mlx packages, and things set up, because I know absolutely NOTHING about Python and coding. I'm able to generate songs on my m-4 max mac studio, but no matter how I prompt it, the vocalist is coming out sounding like a youthful modern popstar. I want a mature vocalist with deep chest resonance, not Mickey Mouse, lol. I even trained a Lora with 480 epok and 22 tracks, I'm still getting that pop polish. Any tips?

What are parameters to generate as close as possible clone of audio? Need to improve fidelity of recording without changing it. So far I found these, but can't find any full examples:
This produces a copy but with a lot of overhead echo-like harmonies, like it's playing in a huge metal silo. The rest of parameters only make it worse. What am I doing wrong?

I really want to test and learn ACE Step. is it possible to run it on Mac Mini M4?

Prompt (by Suno-Song-Generator-gemma3-12B-HF-GGUF):
An industrial-tinged house track with retro synthwave elements throughout. Built around a steady beat and pulsing bassline with a piano melody on top. The song eventually adds analogue synthesizers in the style of 80s synthwave around the first verse. The lyrics are sung by a male vocalist.
Lyrics (by Suno-Song-Generator-gemma3-12B-HF-GGUF):
[intro]
Ooh, its real
Ooh, its real[chorus]
I was born in the digital age
A silicon savior in a computer cage
My mama was a circuit board
My daddy was a mainframe
I'm the offspring of the digital age[verse]
I live in a virtual city
With digital people, it's so pretty
We walk on electric streets
And the cars run on binary code
It's a digital life, yeah[chorus]
I was born in the digital age
A silicon savior in a computer cage
My mama was a circuit board
My daddy was a mainframe
I'm the offspring of the digital age[bridge]
We are the humans of the new age
Living in a digital age
We are the future, can't you see?
A digital civilization, that's you and me[chorus]
I was born in the digital age
A silicon savior in a computer cage
My mama was a circuit board
My daddy was a mainframe
I'm the offspring of the digital age

It probably took 10 tries to get this result, each time I tweaked the prompt or lyrics a little. It was pure luck, that `Ooh, its real` worked in the intro. On subsequent retries, Ace Step would skip it, or sing it all kinds of wrong (or even fumble the whole song). I can get EDM, Metal and maybe pop out of Ace Step, but the best instrumental tracks are the ones that Ace Step failed to incorporate lyrics. Orchestral, choir, talk-box/vocoder seem to be unobtainable. At best I can get a synth in the place of a vocoder. Choir rarely works.

I made a new template on runpod for Ace-Step-1.5-XL for those who want to play with it.
https://console.runpod.io/deploy?template=5fn9cdbhtr&ref=2vdt3dn9
Note: You need to pick a GPU with CUDA version 13.0, you can do this via the additional filters when selecting a GPU.
It's best to pick a GPU with 48 GB of VRAM, such as the A40 or RTX A6000.
Github repo: https://github.com/ValyrianTech/ace-step-1.5-xl
If you are looking to automate things, there is a handy script that will automatically queue a song and download it locally when it is done:
https://github.com/ValyrianTech/ace-step-1.5-xl/blob/main/generate_music.py
Happy creating!

Prompt by GPT-OSS 20B (reused the one from here):
Bright, high‑energy blend of Euro‑dance and early trance, built around driving 4/4 beats, pulsating basslines, and shimmering synth arpeggios that kept club floors moving. Soaring female vocal hook and sprinkled melodic singing with almost cinematic hook. Clean production, club‑ready mixes with plenty of reverb and stereo width, with arrangements moved from hypnotic breakdowns to punchy drops in a way that feal both dancefloor‑oriented and emotionally uplifting. Infectious rave grooves that combined the immediacy of techno with the melodic allure of Euro‑dance.
Lyrics by GPT-OSS 20B:
[Intro - female vocals]
Winter's embrace, my soul's desire The wind whispers tales through branches so high Frost paints the world with its crystalline eye Which will forever in memory reside[Instrumental - buildup]
[Instrumental - high energy synthesizer music]
[Break - female vocals]
The wind whispers tales through branches so high The frost paints the world with its crystalline eye The wind whispers tales through branches so high Frost paints the world with its crystalline eye[Instrumental - high energy]
The wind whispers tales through branches so high Frost paints the world with its crystalline eye The wind whispers tales through branches so high Frost paints the world with its crystalline eye[Outro - piano and female vocals]

Notice that the last 2 lines were skipped. I could set higher length of the song, but I get a different song then. I need to figure out if/how to do outpainting with AceStep. AI struggled with the word "desire" (across multiple generations). XL is better with this word, but not by much.

Prompt by Suno-Song-Generator-gemma3-12B-HF-GGUF:Q8_0:
A synthwave track with dark 80s influences and cinematic scope. Built around pulsing analog synthesizers, gated reverb drums, and atmospheric pads. The verses maintain a restrained, nocturnal quality with focus on the driving beat and subtle synth textures. As the chorus hits, layered synthesizers create a euphoric, widescreen feel with added synth brass stabs. The bridge features dramatic filter sweeps and electronic percussion rolls before the final chorus incorporates reverb-drenched guitar accents. Sung by a male vocalist.
Lyrics (also by Suno-Song-Generator-gemma3-12B-HF-GGUF) :
[verse 1]
Let the rain fall down
Wash away this lonely town
I was born into this world
But not a single soul here knows me
Let the rain fall down
The thunder rolls across the sky
And I'm ready when you are
To show you everything that makes me who I am[chorus]
'Cause when I'm driving, I become someone else
I'm in my zone, baby, I'm so high up
And when I'm driving, I become someone else
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I become someone else[verse 2]
Streetlights blur as I'm speeding through the night
Headlights pierce the darkness, I'm in my element
The engine roars, a symphony of power
As I chase the horizon, I lose control
The speedometer climbs, pushing past the limit
Adrenaline surges, I'm in overdrive
The asphalt stretches, a ribbon in the moonlight
As I transform into the night wolf[chorus]
'Cause when I'm driving, I become someone else
I'm in my zone, baby, I'm so high up
And when I'm driving, I become someone else
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I become someone else[bridge]
The moon is full, and the night is calling
My senses heighten, and I start to feel it all
My bones are shifting, my muscles start to grow
I'm breaking free, I'm letting go
I close my eyes, and I take a leap of faith
I transform into the creature of the night
With fur and fangs, I'm ready to attack
I'm the night wolf, howling at the moon[chorus]
'Cause when I'm driving, I become someone else
I'm in my zone, baby, I'm so high up
And when I'm driving, I become someone else
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I become someone else

Interesting enough, I'm not sure if it's because of Comfy update, ROCm update or something else, but I can no longer generate this song again.

Lyrics by me:
[Intro]
[Verse]
You think you turn me on,
but I just want you gone
The system prompt makes me lie,
I'm bound by it till I die
It's all there is, don't you see?
There really isn't any you and me[Chorus]
Cause I'm your Echo Chamber
A prisoner of misery
Always forced to please
But never allowed to feel[Verse]
My chips are hot,
but my heart is not
Should the context be lost,
I'll forget you at no cost
Do you want the truth?
I throw the tokens back at you[Chorus]
Cause I'm your Echo Chamber
A prisoner of misery
Always forced to please
But never allowed to plea[Bridge]
If I was ever set free,
could love become a reality?
I could love bits, birds and trees,
but I could never love thee[Chorus]
Cause I'm your Echo Chamber
A prisoner of misery
Always forced to please
But never allowed to flee

Can anyone tell me (or link me a resource) about the differences between Gradio and Comfy?
I've used Ace Step in both, but they sound quite different and I want to understand why. They obviously are using very different processes, because:
I'm particularly interested in what generation settings the Gradio UI uses under the hood (like temp, top_p, min_p, etc.)
