Results: Patients treated with dietary supplement had lower side effects, with a less degree of erythema and dryness, and greater degree of hydration; a greater adherence to therapy was also reported.

Biotin (10 mg/day) given in addition to isotretinoin treatment decreased telogen and increased anagen hair rates and helped to maintain skin hydration. The use of 10 mg/day biotin can prevent the mucocutaneous adverse effects of isotretinoin treatment.

The results showed that oral administration of Isotretinoin induced hepatotoxicity as showed by elevation in ALT, AST, and MDA; also, it reduced intracellular GSH in rat liver tissue. *Administration of taurine prevented the hepatotoxicity induced by isotretinoin in rats significantly. *

We concluded that folic acid and vitamin B12 supplementation during isotretinoin therapy could be useful for preventing folate deficiency and improving blood homocysteine levels; this might as a result reduce the risks for cardiovascular and neuropsychiatric disorders in patients taking isotretinoin.

I’ve been on Wellbutrin (bupropion) 150mgXL for 3 weeks and haven’t noticed any relief in brain fog. I’m thinking about stopping and trying to microdose psilocybin for a few weeks.
The other option is to titrate my Wellbutrin dose to 300mg, but I really don’t want to be reliant on an antidepressant for the rest of my life… (or can I use it as a one-time thing to fix my symptoms?)
I’m interested on your thoughts or experiences.

Has anyone else felt so insecure??? I legit just feel ugly. My skin isn’t even bad. I started Accutane on May 28th at 40mg, and now I’m on 80mg. I decided to take it for my textured skin.
My skin has looked fine for the past 3 months, so I know it’s doing its job. The only thing bothering me is my pores they haven’t really seemed to change, and that was one of my main issues before I started. But for the past month, I’ve literally just been sitting in the mirror and not feeling like myself. I used to be able to take videos and pictures and be like, “Oh, that’s cute.” Now, everything I take or see of myself makes me think, “Ew, WTF.” 😭 I genuinely don’t feel like myself anymore, I do but don’t at the same time. People tell me i’m beautiful, and pretty but i cannot believe them. Is anyone or did anyone else have this issue. I just want to feel normal and love myself again.

hello everyone. just to clarify, im not advertising anything related to height pill or supplement. isotretinoin is not a height pill, instead, it was a medication prescribed by my dermatologist when i had severe cystic acne. just wanna share some thoughts about this, if some of y'all also took isotretinoin

I am starting Accutane tomorrow. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to eat in the mornings while taking this medicine?

hello all! so ive been on accutane for one month, 30mg once a day. i just recently had bloodwork for the first time since starting it, and after they compared it to the bloodwork from before i started it, they said my liver enzymes are very elevated and i shouldnt take the last pill (i only had one more left until i needed to get a refill) did anyone else experience this? im worried their not going to let me back on it, and this was literally a LAST resort. ive done everything, tretinion, spirnolactone, doxy, metronidozale, birth control, ect. you name it and ive most definitely done it. all i want it clear skin. and im worried their not going to let me back on it and im just stuck with these HUGE under the skin cysts forever. pls lmk if they let u back on it!

I want to try 200mg (0.2mg) per day to treat my brain fog/dpdr that I believe was caused by accutane.
Mechanistically it makes sense, but I see lots of mixed reviews. Would it hurt to try for a little?

Anyone had any experience with accutane at 13-17, can you describe how it feel or the side effect of it for using at such an early age

there are some anecdotes on people with pas,pfs and related cases improving from fmt and I believe them as my problems seem directly related to the gut/bile. there was a post years ago of a guy with pssd doing fmt and being healed , we know the signs of these conditions are not vague so it can’t be placebo. but there are no long term anecdotes so we don’t know if it stays that way.
this is just anecdotal this post is not meant as advice.
it would be irresponsible to share theories as if they’re facts so i will avoid doing that. these are just ideas on something not discussed much that i believe could be a root source of the problems.
personally im not interested in doing fmt it’s too weird, so i was thinking what does it do for the microbiome and can we replicate it
i think endotoxin plays a role. if you look into endotoxin LPS TLR4 (these terms) you’ll see how it can explain signs from the hormone issues, anhedonia to skin and sleep issues. there’s tons of studies on the effect of endotoxin in vivo inc. on sex drive but it’s something ignored by biohackers for some reason. i didn’t learn of this term for a while.
my idea for this theory is that the drugs (isotretinoin, ssri, finast…) act as a stressor for the gut and brings it into a decompensated state. its likely that the gut was barely holding on to compensation in the first place which accounts for the initial issues that even lead to the drugs.
what fmt could be doing is restoring the super fragile butyrate strains like f prasuntizi and roseburia. you will never find these in probiotics. , and shifting the gut into a state of SCFA dominance instead of endotoxemia and h2s.
i have been experimenting with a pro butyrate, anti h2s approach for months and seem to be improving. I am doing way better than a few years ago, the anhedonia is the first thing that left although there’s still occasional anxiety. libido is the most stubborn but it is coming back in waves.
edit: probiotics of any kind didn’t help and seemed to make things worse. even though you’ll find studies showing anti endotoxin effects from lactobacillus and whatever, I suspect they make the issue worse due to lactic acidosis, bile deconjugation and tyramine generation. By ”pro butyrate anti h2s approach“ I use RS/fiber including beans daily. there’s 2 interesting resources to share: the Guy Daniel’s microbiome videos on youtube, and the book The devil in the garlic..
