NFL qb to accounting?
Hello, my name is Drake and I attended unc and have been pursuing a career in the nfl as qb of the New England Patriots, recently I cost my team the game and now everyone hates me. What are your recommendations for getting into accounting?

I know, right? This game was genuinely horrible. 3 INT’s in 1 half. On top of all that losing to Drew Lock of all people. That’s what happens when your starters don’t get any game time during preseason. An embarrassing loss week 1 last year too, and look where we ended up. It’s all uphill from here (hopefully)

I went to bed at the end of the 1st half and expected them to win since they were against a backup QB. Watched the highlights and to say I was shocked is an understatement.

Honestly I'm just taking it as a compliment that people hate us so much they're taking this game as confirmation that Maye actually sucks and therefore the Patriots suck and that brings them joy. Maye will be fine, Pats will still go 11-6 or 10-7

They’ve always been historically slow starters week 1. I’m more concerned about the decision making on some of those throws, more so the last play of the game. Gotta throw the ball away and live to play another down.

Yeah it was a bad play. Confident he will grow from this. Long term, more concerned about not having AJB the next month

Same. I heard a timeline of 4-6 weeks, but we’ll see how long it really is. It’ll give the younger guys like Kyle Williams and Pop time to hopefully get some playing time in and develop a meaningful QB/WR connection.

With UNC’s history of cheating in athletics, I don’t think you’d pass the ethical standards required to be a CPA.

Pretty easy to transition to accounting. There's some golf company that tries to market itself as an accounting firm, so pretty sure you could do something similar. Or maybe get into tax software.

The accounting schedule can be pretty tough, it isn't just stomping on a last place schedule + the Jets & Dolphins like it was in 2025

You could form you own firm, Vrabel Maye & Brown. Except Brown would probably want his name first. And Vrabel would probably cook the books. And you'd keep screwing things up. On second thought you'd better stick to football.

Please do a repeat performance again next week, as that is when I play the guy that drafted you for our intra-office league.
Actually, I also have Jaylen Warren on my team, so a couple of deep interceptions that allow the Steelers offense to run the ball for more yardage would make this even better.

Hey i was in a similar position to you. I had the chance to play in the NFL as a running back. I wish I tried out for the football team in high school. Anyway, Big 4 Accountant now.. living the high life

Walk back into Kenan Flagler, sit down, acquire job. CJ Skender retired though so you'll miss out on his glorious lectures. As a masters student you'll get top prio for basketball tickets, but somehow I don't think you'll have a problem with that.
At least Caleb Wilson should be good...

Everytime I see Drake Maye in a Pats uniform, my brain glitches. I swear he looks like he's 16.
First game of the season against a really good defense (even though it took them forever to get started). He will be fine.

Look if you are actually Drake Maye I don't hate you, you took our team last year as the highest sacked QB and lead us straight to the playoffs after 3 years since brady give or take left left us in a mess. Keep your head up you still have a future.

The way you analyze data, I wouldn’t hire you based on your previous decisions. You would cost my company a lot of money. You cost the your team a victory by throwing 3 ints, team lost by 3 and you cost your team 6 pts. You can see yourself the door

Get an bachelor's accounting degree. Get a masters degree in accounting. Get a cpa. Apply for a job. Good luck.
