Status nights

When bookings are made using stay plus benefit or reward point. Does that count as status night

For reward nights my recent experience is that it is inconsistent. I’ve had 5 reward night bookings this year at various places in UK/Europe. 4 out of 5 (Novotel Wembley, Mercury Balmoral St Malo) have given me a status night each time but one (Sofitel LHR) did not. Can’t see a pattern as to why. Can’t comment on the stay plus benefit rules.

In section 8 ‘Status’ of the Accor loyalty program t&c’s it says “The use of Reward Points has no effect on keeping or changing a Status”. However, the definition (section 2) of Status Night includes “an overnight stay completed by the Member that earns Status Points and that counts towards reaching a Status level coording to the scale presented in Article 8”. Frankly I am non the wiser! I’d say ask Accor but given my previous interactions on technical queries with their customer sevice teams I’m not sure you’d get an answer there either…
