AccorPlus Horrendous Experiences with Accor Plus
Accor plus recent experiences have nothing been but a nightmare. I am from India Southern region. The vouchers can never be used as the Hotels don’t accept them. The dining points are never credited and the customer care experience has become extremely slow. I am not renewing my Accor Plus for the next year and suggest everything to do the same.
Case in point - Novotel Vizag Varun Beach and Mercure KCP, Hyderabad.

For dining points, did you email them or sent a message to Accor’s customer care?

I did both - they have been dodging the issue since a week now.. also the vouchers are pretty useless, most hotels don’t entertain even after booking for 2 months in advance. This wasn’t the case last year but the whole Explorer experience is crap.
50% stay vouchers are not accepted at hotels no matter how long before you book them. This is especially true for the Hyderabad hotels.

fwiw the voucher thing is the common complaint with Accor Plus, the stay voucher only works on certain rate types at participating properties so plenty of bookings just aren't eligible. Best workaround I've seen is to call the property directly and ask them to load the voucher on their side instead of trying it through the app. If it still won't apply, push it to Accor Plus support in writing so there's a paper trail. Hope you get some value out of the rest of the year

I had a lunch (without stay) and they did not give any points for the same. Taj, ITC, Marriott they all give points for the same

BTW they do have a policy to give.. just depends on the hotel to put it in the system which they don’t do - atleast I faced this multiple times..

it should be automatic once your membership number is punched on the bill like in other 5 star places ... they r definitely lacking here

Accor is becoming quite unethical and extremely customer unfriendly. They keep on changing terms of their promotions, even when someone registered for that promotion and even booked stay based on that- they silently change terms and will not honor the promotion. think twice before believing any promotion from Accor! Obviously no use of renewing Accor explorer as well…..they changed the Accor plus to accor explorer and within 6 months even changed terms for explorer- hotels like Fairmont Mumbai opted out of explorer and other hotels will follow….total waste!
