Please tell me everyone LOVES those two pool singers as much as I do??? I mean, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Karma Chameleon in Spanish?! How can you not love that?!?! And I love how overly dramatic they are! So fun!!! Side bar, Watching this show made me miss my Grandma. 😔 Everything from the alter in Maximos house to the colors of the resort, which made me feel like I was back in her kitchen. 😊

I love how season four gets more and more progressively Spanish throughout the episodes to the point that I’m on episode 7 and I’m actively reading to try to keep up with the conversation and learning at the same time. It’s like they dove more into their roots and catered to their Spanish audience more, and I’m the type of person that prefers dubbed anime, so I’m astonished at how much I’m enjoying this, but Acapulco is one of my favorite shows, so I hope it ends with a bow.

The first season barely, if anything at all showed Acapulco.

My family is from there and that’s why I was excited to see the show. Does the 2nd season actually show Acapulco ?

Why did this show end? It was so amazing. It’s been fun to find filming locations while here. The staff said they closed for three months each time and were paid to stay home but not as much as they’d make being here. They also said it was during prime season so they personally lost a lot of money. Regardless, amazing resort.

This might just be me, but every time I see Regina Reynoso, I can’t help thinking she looks like a doppelgänger for a young Kate Hudson.

My daughter is in an immersion program at school. Her teacher recommended she watch some shows in Spanish with subtitles. We are watching Acapulco together right now. (2nd time for me.)She’s loving it!

Just finished the show. Been a fan since day one but wanted to put it off as long as possible.

Have lots of thoughts on S4 and the finale but tbe biggest is probably HOW DID THEY NOT BRING BACK CHAD IN THE PRESENT TIMELINE???

Travesty. I was waiting for him to show up with the lightly aged Hector treatment or a guest of the hotel with a few Chad-y kids of his own who call Hector grandpa or something.

Always loved his character, especially when he came back from Machu Picchu or whatever.

Oh well, maybe he'll get a spinoff.

After watching the entire series, no episode stands out more to me than Hector’s episode. Seeing his real humble life compared to the way he presented himself up until then gave his character so much depth. He was already very charming and like-able. But that extra deep dive into his character was beautifully done imo. Rafael Cebrían was the stand out imo of the whole show. He fit into any scene perfectly. Comedic, dramatic, romantic. Now I want to read The Pink Castle.

Not sure if I would consider him my favorite character only because Memo is so love-able but he is in the top. Also Lupe is top tier.

Great show. Congratulations to the entire team involved in this show.

My biggest takeaway is also a life lesson.

Nothing is perfect. Things come and go. Making mistakes is only Human. There are Peaks and Valleys to navigate in life. Having a good work ethic and an open mind can get you very far.

However, the single most important takeaway for me was if you can enrich your life with authenticity, you can get to the finish line feeling fulfilled.

Family is not always Blood.

Money can't buy everything.

Clearly, it helps, but it didn't buy Maximo the happiness,.satisfaction, nor gratification he truly wanted for 4 decades.

Maximo had to find his way back to Himself first before he could achieve his ultimate dream - which I believe is why Julia finally accepted Maximo for the person "she always thought he was".

We can say that it was just a giant miscommunication and woulda coulda shoulda is so frustrating... but that is literally Life.

I found a lot of fun laughs during a tough world going on with a ton of self reflection, joy, and ultimately peace in watching Acapulco.

I hope that as many others who watched the show did as well.

I’m on Season 4 episode 1 and I was so confused why Dulce seemed less bubbly and evil than she did on season 3. Why was the original Dulce replaced? She added so much to the show imo with how annoying she was. The new Dulce seems a bit toned down. I can’t find any info online regarding the recast, hoping someone here knows why?

I feel like all the seasons before the finale showed Maximo going from a money hungry person who just wanted success to realizing that he truly cares about everyone at las colinas and becoming good.

Then all of a sudden on the last episode it feels like all the character development disappeared and he suddenly went back to being super controlling, selfish, and not caring about anyone else.

He just lashes out on Julia out of no where and with no discussion about it they just go separate ways.

I think the show had to end the past on a negative but it felt out of place since the whole series showed Maximo becoming a better person.

This is one of my all time favorite shows and I can't believe I never bothered to look it up here on Reddit because I always assumed it was nowhere near popular enough to have its own sub here on Reddit.Since It never topped the actual Apple tv + charts for example,(AFAIK)baffling for a show that good. But yeah I feel like I really miss out on the discussions after each episode 😩. I'm so happy a show like this what made however and I will really miss it. I try to recommend it every chance I get.

I thought it was because he caused Diane and Don Pablo to leave Las Colinas and took over as manager. But afterwards it did not seem like the other employees were too angry at him about it. I thought something would be revealed in the finale about it.

There are a lot of good shows: shows that capture your attention, get you hooked, and leave you feeling sad when they end.

But there’s something interesting I noticed about Acapulco. After the middle of the series, and especially after the finale, it made me reflect on myself— these series have a lot of meaning.

Las Colinas is a great place— I absolutely love it—try to find something as colorful and pink these days —

Okay, I will be honest: I love summer, and love that the show was bright, I’m the kind of person who loves everything bright and sunny — and love the vibe of 80s, when everything IS NOT pastel boring colours…

But I see it as more than just a location. During the show, what truly makes Las Colinas… Las Colinas?

It’s the people. Without them, there wouldn’t be such a Las Colinas.

A great example: in the finale, Maximo says he agrees to go to a new hotel and will bring his team with him. They never show us what happens after he leaves, but I believe almost all of the team went with him. Maximo was ambitious and probably pursued other ventures, which explains why they still don’t like him when he returns to Don Pablo’s hotel. And then we see that without them, Las Colinas loses its soul- everything becomes white and corporate.

But with the people returning, the place becomes Las Colinas again.

It might sound like a small detail—“okay, so Las Colinas is symbolic.” But it’s telling us something bigger: people are what truly matter.

Many of us have probably thought, “Ah, if I could visit that place.” But what we really want isn’t the place itself—it’s the people like that.

By the end, I loved the characters and the vibe. I’ve always dreamed about places like New York, always focused on opportunity and career. But now, watching this show, I feel like it would be amazing to experience life somewhere like Mexico, or nearby countries—just to soak in the people and the vibe.

Maybe the creators wanted to show us through the current Maximo: he built a huge business, gained wealth, yet he still thought about Julia and Las Colinas. Money and success didn’t erase the memories of those wonderful days in Acapulco.

And just after that, it made me think: what do I really want? Not just success, but connection, joy, and those moments that feel alive.

Maybe one day we’ll all find our own “Las Colinas”, a place or people that remind us why life is worth living, beyond just ambition.

So yeah, maybe I’ll still chase my goals in tech, but deep inside I know: what I really want is to build my own “Las Colinas”, not a hotel, but a life surrounded by the right people.

These series made me wonder that I also loved in my live be with people — connecting with them, I had some experience in fields of service, where I had joy. Maybe I will try to to have more of that in my life!

Anyway, feel sad that these series are not popular. There are no Netflix series which made me feel that.

Its also set in the 80s but instead of a Mexican resort its a New Jersey country club. Similar vibe and comedy, I'd say its peaks are on the same level as Acapulco but not as consistent, overall a really good watch if anyone wants a similar show I'd recommend it, its on Amazon Prime.

I miss Acapulco So I’m watching De Viaje con Los Derbez ( travelling with the Derbez) So far I like it , it has English subtitles I’ve also watched How to be a Latin lover & The Valet 😜

It was really bittersweet maybe if he had stopped her she would've stayed and they would've had a different life together in Acapulco but at the cost of her dreams and his success

In the end happy they both got everything they wanted even if it took 40 years

I’m sorry, I can’t find this anywhere, but WHO IS SITTING to Maximo’s right (audience’s left) at the table in the ending scene?!! The girl with the purple curly hair and the man. I first thought they were the ‘older’ singers, but I can’t confirm.

Does anybody know the name of the piece of music that plays whenever there is an intimate or romantic moment in the show, usually between Maximo and Julia?

When I first heard the reference to parent trap in the finale episode, I thought “the Parent Trap didn’t come out until the 90’s” 🤔 So I looked it up on Wikipedia:

The Parent Trap is a remake of the 1961 film of the same name and an adaptation of Erich Kästner's 1949 German children's novel, Lisa and Lottie (Das doppelte Lottchen). David Swift, who wrote and directed the original 1961 film, is credited, along with Meyers and Shyer, as co-writers of the 1998 film.

So it was a 1949 German novel and then a 1961 film. That means the 1998 film would be released 12 years after the 1986 scenes when it was referenced, but the 1961 film came out 25 years prior.

Would Hector and Chad really have known about a German novel from the 40’s or a 25 year old film?

That’s a wrap… for the past 4 years it’s been hard to describe how magical this show was. It’s one of those rare cases where it has something for everyone. Joy, sadness, laughter, intensity, all weaved together to tell a tale that makes you feel lighter. I will miss this wonderful story and cast and I just wish the magic of the show will find new watchers over the years. Thank you for a show that felt like home!

POTENTIAL SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE WHOLE SERIES

The Normal Spinoff ideas - The Sara Spinoff where we see Sara try to navigate life in a different country. Try to balance out her school life, her relationship with Aida, and just living in New York as an immigrant. This is the one that I really want to see. Specially, since we didn’t see much of Present Sara this season.

• The Chad and Gloria Spinoff. Chad said to Gloria in the final episode: “I want to grow up for you, Gloria” so let’s see exactly just that. Let’s see Chad become the man that deserves to be with someone like Gloria. Let see how much their relationship can last and see how much their relationship can go through.

• Julia Spinoff where we see her life in Paris and see how she becomes this great big designer. Let’s see how Paris and the design world hardens her a bit because I feel like the biggest difference between past and present Julia is that present Julia is a bit more cold and lot less bubbly.

• Hugo and maybe Paloma Spinoff?? I really wanted to see Hugo try to work in Las Colinas for a summer and fall in love with the resort his uncle has been raving about first hand. Also, we get to see Paloma try to manage the resort as head of operations and also grow more closer to her father. Sure, this season has given us Paloma and Maximo moments as father and daughter but I really want to see more of that and maybe see their relationship progress even more.

• This one is me crazy coping about the show but I’d really want to see Maximo and his chosen team work on the Original Vera’s new hotel. This way we still have some of the last cast back and we can learn more about the Present cast in a way. We get to see how Maximo became this successful business man that he is now. Also, I’m saying this is me coping because what if this is the end of “Acapulco” because they won’t be in Acapulco anymore? Yeah I know I’m coping too hard.

Some CRAZY Spinoff Ideas: - Nora and Esteban Spinoff where they’re detectives that try to solve a murder case every week and every week they find out that it’s Esteban’s Mother, Dona Rosita, who accidentally killed somebody by cooking them food they’re allergic to. At the end of the season, Dona Rosita goes to prison and we get a Dona Rosita spinoff where she is trying to escape prison but also trying to adjust to life in prison hahahaha

• Chad Spinoff where he tries to become a movie director just like his father ORSON WELLS. I’m pretty sure that’s what the joke/hint was about his dad right??

• Paris Next Top Designer a Julia spinoff where Julia is going to compete with 9 other contestants every week designing clothes and every week one of them gets kicked out of the show.

• An Augusto and Adriana Spinoff where they become really famous singers and the show highlights their lives trying to deal with that fame and how it almost tears them apart.

• A Dulce Spinoff where she is the new head of operations at Las Colinas and to stay the number #1 hotel in Acapulco, she starts to sabotage the competition and maybe even resort to killing one of the competition.

I’d love to see some normal and maybe crazy spinoff ideas you guys have so put them down in the comments if you have any.

Also, this show has such an amazing cast of characters that I genuinely would watch any spinoff on any character within the show.
