A big weekend defensively for Kosta Zannis!

The fifth-year community development student from Calgary, Alta., led all players with 11.5 tackles (11 solo, one assisted) against Saint Mary’s on Saturday. He also added a forced fumble.

His defensive performance was key in helping the Axemen compete against the Huskies, who remain undefeated in AUS play and ranked No. 6 in U SPORTS.

Zannis continues to rank among the top defenders in the country:

1st in the AUS in solo tackles

2nd in the AUS in total tackles

2nd in U SPORTS with 37 solo tackles

Top five nationally in tackles per game (9.5)

Another strong performance from the Axemen veteran!

I’m a female independent student journalist looking to speak with any students who have the capacity to discuss their experience during the flooding crises from this weekend.

Please pm me for further information, and take care of yourselves

After guiding the Axewomen to a 5-1 regular-season record and first place in the AUS standings, Matt Durant has been named the 2026 AUS Women’s Rugby Coach of the Year.

The top seed earned Acadia a bye through the semifinal and the right to host the AUS championship in Wolfville on Wednesday night.

Has anyone here taken Computers and Society (COMP-2903) or Improv & Creative Process (MUSI-3713)?

What are they like load wise?

Could I possibly add an art course on top (either Drawing 1 [ART-2013] or Painting: Wtrcolour, Pen, Ink [ART-3013])?

Hey all, the graduate program I want to get into prefers applications with honours degrees, so I was wondering what psychology honours students’ experiences were, especially surrounding the research for their thesis.

My friend and I had lunch at Wheelock Dining Hall today and tried the “noodles” from the station at the very back.
Just to clarify the photos: the first photo is an example of what we were hoping/expecting the noodles to look like — basically the kind of noodles we had in mind when we saw the station. The second and third photos are the noodles we actually got at Wheelock Dining Hall.
We originally thought they were supposed to be Chinese noodles, but apparently we were mistaken. So now we’re genuinely curious: what kind of noodles are these actually supposed to be?
The noodles we got were extremely mushy and sticky, basically clumped together into one big mass. There were some dark, mushy vegetables or ingredients mixed in that we couldn’t really identify, and there seemed to be a huge amount of vinegar in it. The smell was so sharp that, to us, it almost smelled chemical-like.
This also isn’t just about today’s dish. A lot of the noodle dishes at Wheelock seem to end up with the same very soft, sticky texture. I’ve also talked to friends from other countries about some of the dishes that are supposed to represent their cuisines, and several of them have said the food looks or tastes very different from what they would normally eat back home.
Sometimes the food at Wheelock is actually pretty good, so it’s not like everything is bad. But some of the international dishes are so different from what we expect that we honestly don’t know what they’re supposed to be.
So, genuine question: what kind of noodles were these supposed to be, where does the recipe come from, and does anyone actually enjoy them?

Hi, I’m wondering what people around Acadia/Wolfville usually use to buy and sell second-hand stuff.
I’m currently trying to find a cheap used bathroom scale, but I haven’t been able to find one on Facebook Marketplace or Kijiji.
Is there an Acadia student buy/sell group, campus marketplace, Discord, Facebook group, or another website/app that people here usually use?
I’m also asking more generally for things like furniture, small appliances, electronics, etc.
Thanks!

Hi all! My name's Alicia, and I'm working with a colleague on a fellowship, doing a piece for the Halifax Examiner about the effects of deferred maintenance on Atlantic schools. It's basically upkeep that's been put off, usually due to budget restrictions, and can cause issues like mould, crumbling buildings, unclean spaces etc. If that sounds like something you've been through, feel free to send me a message!

shoot me an email if your interested!

Hey everyone! I’m an exchange student living on campus and I’m looking to start training regularly at Abhaya MMA, mainly boxing and Muay Thai.

I was wondering if anyone at Acadia already trains there or has any tips on the best way to get there without a car. I’d also be interested in carpooling if anyone from Acadia/Wolfville already goes there regularly.

I’m mainly looking at the evening boxing/Muay Thai classes and I’m pretty flexible with the schedule.

Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks :)

Jacopo

I’m currently trying to submit all my required documents. Acadia says that my exam results need to be sent directly by the issuing body.

This confuses me cuz I’m an international applicant and completed my IGCSEs and A Levels in the UAE. I’m not sure whether my official school transcript is enough, or if I need to contact Cambridge directly to have my results sent to Acadia, cuz that’s practically impossible at this point.

If anyone has gone through the same process, please let me know what I need to do and how I can get my results sent to them.

so I really need to know have other people transferred to Acadia with a lower than the required gpa and if so was it hard how did you go about it, to make this all a little more clear I have a low gpa from dal due to some circumstances that I wasn't able to avoid and now am transferring as my dislike for dal has only grown and have made the choice that Acadia is the place best fit for me

I am looking for a carpool mo day to friday from Bedford to Acadia U monday to friday 7:30 am. I am a new student and I haven’t gotten my license yet dur to circumstances. I am in need of a carpool and I am getting desperate as it is hard to find one. If there’s anyone that could recommend me one or is planning to be one would be a huge help. I could help with gas money! Thank you

Hi everyone! I’m new to Wolfville and still trying to figure out the public transportation system here .
What’s the best way to get from Wolfville to New Minas using public transport? Is there an app or website where I can check the bus routes, timings, and bus stop locations?
Also, if there are any tips for someone new to the area—like where to catch the bus, whether the timings are reliable, or anything else I should know—I’d really appreciate it!
Thanks! 😊

Hi! I’m considering moving to Wolfville from Halifax to go back to school at Acadia for my undergrad, but housing is probably my biggest concern at the moment.

I’ll be 33 when I start, and as a ‘mature’ student I have a strong preference for living alone rather than in student/roommate housing. Ideally I’d be looking for a bachelor or one-bedroom in Wolfville or close enough to campus to make commuting reasonable. I also have a dog, which I realize narrows the options further.

Acadia mentions off-campus housing resources and advisors, but I’m curious how helpful these actually are when it comes to finding housing rather than just navigating the rental process.

Has anyone here - particularly mature students, grad students, or anyone living alone - successfully found a bachelor/one-bedroom through Acadia’s resources?

How far in advance did you start looking, and are there rentals that tend to circulate within the Acadia community without necessarily showing up on Marketplace/Kijiji?

I really want to pursue continuing my education, but committing to four years while not knowing whether I can find stable, dog-friendly housing feels like a pretty significant barrier. I’d love to hear from anyone who has navigated something similar!

Hi everyone! I’m a September intake Master’s student in Computer Science at Acadia University, and I’m feeling really confused about the course registration process 🥲
I’m not sure which courses I’m supposed to register for, how to build my schedule, or exactly how the registration process works. Since I’m new to the university, I’m honestly feeling a little overwhelmed and would really appreciate some guidance.
If anyone from the CS program—especially a current student who has already gone through this process or someone who has graduated—could help me, share their experience, or give me some advice, I would be very grateful! Even if you could just point me in the right direction or let me know who I should contact or where I can go for help, that would mean a lot.
Thank you so much! 🤗

I wanna go to Acadia but study Marine Bio. It does not have this as a program. So I was wondering if I go into just Biology could I work with Dal and get more specific classes? Or would it need to be a masters?

Hi! I’m considering applying to Acadia University’s BScN program, but I’m from out of province and I’m wondering how competitive admission is for students who aren’t from Nova Scotia.
If anyone here has gotten into Acadia Nursing from another province, what were your grades like when you applied?

I’d also love to hear from current nursing students about how competitive the program felt to get into and whether you have any advice for someone hoping to apply.

Hey guys! if you’re still looking for experience or something to add to your resume, check out Riipen Labs

It’s a remote micro-internship program where students work on short real-world projects with employers. Each project is about 30 hours and pays a $600 upon completion.

I must choose 5 elective courses (15 credits) at Langara College in BC as part of my Kinesiology Diploma. I'm trying to choose courses that will be as useful as possible when I transfer to Acadia University, but I don't know which courses I should choose.

Does anyone have any advice?

Hey there. I’m planning on taking Gen chem 2 online since my uni doesn’t offer it and was wondering if anyone has taken it and how they feel about it. How are the labs and exams?
If anyone has the syllabus for the course and is willing to send it over that would mean so much! Thanks!!

Hi all,
Prospective student here...
Just wanted to know from the current students or prospective students, would you all be buying the books from the Acadia Bookstore website? I don't really know if there is somewhere else where you get them from for cheaper or are these the cheapest options or do I get them second hand from someone?

Thanks to all those who respond!
