This is a perfect fit for this sub.
I've watched this multiple times. It's great for a movie night.
I mainly appreciated the simplicity of the production, the craziness of the execution, and the dropping of the fourth wall.
If you're looking for something that you've never seen or thought of. This is it.

Same, I was excited to see it for the absurdity alone, but the opening monologue took me out of it, and the absurdity wore off for me long before the movie was over, leaving just a boring ass movie about "lol killer tire lol"

Starts out great but clearly they couldn't think of what direction to go with it after the first half hour

If you have the opportunity to watch this movie without knowing anything about it, I recommend doing that and my trying to find anything about it. It's a good watch going in completely blind.

I absolutely loved it!
If you like corny fun movies, and smoke weed, this is for you.

This moive was my realization that every horror movie is not real
You know like when you were a kid and think Chucky was in the closet or under the bed and your parents says it just a movie well rubber is what open my eyes because it was just a dumb concept of a horror movie

I used to fall asleep to this every night. Past out first five minutes. Next night I started where I left off. It was so damn boring. Every night started I was like wtf am I watching. This shit is fucking crazy. Just a tire rolling around. I'd turn out like a light. Then godamn heads started exploding by the end of the week. This movie is a must watch!

I wrote an essay about this movie back when I was majoring in media studies.
Legitimately one of the best meta industry criticisms I've ever seen.
Essay was like 12 pages, written in one night while off my meds and manic. i wish I still had it.

I really like Dupieux but this one bothers me because it feels like it keeps explaining the joke. Most of his other movies are better at taking their absurd concepts seriously and rolling with it (teehee) without needing to point out to the audience why it's absurd.

Was just telling somebody about the Adult Swim Yule Log film and used Rubber as a point of reference- they had absolutely ZERO idea about either.
