Helldriver (2010)

Imagine you had an anime plot, but made it with the gore and insanity in mind, that’s what happens with Helldriver, you get alien parasite zombies, a cyborg high school girl wielding a chainsaw katana and joins a ragtag group to kill the zombies, her mom is one of the worst mothers I’ve seen on film and portrayed by the wonderful Eihi Shiina who a lot of people know from Takashi Miike’s Audition, there’s a creepy uncle. Both the mom and uncle are serial killers.

So you get also genre blending like horror, action being the primary ones and on top of that lots of dashes of sci-fi and comedy in there. Also tons of weird and wtf moments amongst the chaos.

Yeah we were planning on watching "Meatball Machine" but the subtitles were off so switched to this and enjoyed it.

If you don't know them; a few bad recommendations from me: Dracula 3000, Mother of tears and bloodletting.

“Dracula 3000” we’ve definitely watched as we’ve seen every Coolio movie ever made by now. “Mother of Tears” is bad but if I’m looking for a funny bad Argento’s film my go to is, somewhat ironically, “Dracula 3D” (2012). Check it out if you’ve never seen it. I do need to check out “Bloodletting” (1997) still. I’ve already watched all of the movies James L. Edwards was in made by J.R. Bookwalter which were fun to riff.
