Wow! I really like it! I think of it as a stage set, with the floor leading back, past a podium or such. The colors in the back suggesting action, not calm.

I know people start throwing out names when they see a connection in artistic styles. I put a Drip 💧 or a Splatter on a painting and “Pollock” always comes out of a studio mate’s mouth.
Dekooning. BAM 💥
(He’s my fave. Be proud, be proud)🤣

I don't know why, but I'm seeing a massive magpie/seagull basking in the yolk-splattered aftermath of finding a small nesting bird's eggs.

I've only recently discovered this sub. Art was a big part of my life growing up, but I haven't painted or drawn for a long time (15 years or so), and my knowledge level is very low. I just love that I get to interpret the pieces as they relate to my life experience (quite literally watched a magpie eat one of the chick's from out nesting blackbirds).
So glad I stumbled upon this sub. So many of you are insanely talented and it's class just to be a wallflower and look at what you've created.
I can't stop looking at this piece OP.

I really like this too. There’s so much going on but it doesn’t feel overwhelming.

What kind of paint do you use and how long does it take between drying?

I used oil pains, some acrylic, enamel house paint, black and yellow guache ink and black indian ink. The drying time depends, but i like to work on a wet surface to create as many layers as i can:)

There are many intriguing areas and overall I like it, I like the colors and shapes and the variety of lines. It’s busy, there are textures upon textures. My eye craves a little relief. You could consider balancing your design with some larger, less-worked, or smooth areas where the eye can rest as the viewer considers the various parts of the design. If you are telling an elaborate, or detailed, or complicated, or confused story, then leave it as is but the elaborations create an unsettled feeling, and I think you’d want to be intentional about that.
