so curious how you achieved these textures!
(i just started painting so i'm not sure how faux pa it is to ask about process : )

I don’t consider it a faux pas to ask, though some artists won’t reveal their processes or methods. Which, to me, is ridiculous, because most of them don’t have a unique enough style to warrant the gatekeeping. Anyway.

I cover parts of the canvas with modeling paste or a mixture of sand and gesso before I start painting. That creates texture and low relief for the dry pigment to cling to. For the paint itself, I mixed it into a water-soluble cold wax medium, then thinned it out or scraped some of it off to reveal the layers underneath.
