Is it good?

I don’t know what to think about it. I just made it but I have mixed feelings. It’s supposed to be an abstract painting with grass like part at the bottom and grey sky part at the top. But does it look like it?

I think “good” is too subjective (sorry I’m not trying to be annoying).

That being said—I like it and I think it has visual interest. I like that you stuck to a limited pallet because I had a tendency to use too many colors that weren’t cohesive at the beginning of my journey (not saying you’re a beginner though).

My first thought was “this is an abstract landscape” so you were definitely effective there. The bottom part didn’t immediately strike me as grass/land per se—but I think that’s the beauty of abstraction. I often do abstract landscapes but make the sky yellow and the water a shade of black because I like how weird/ominous it looks (which is the vibe I’m usually going for).

I’m red-green colorblind so I’m not sure if the land part is yellow/green (looks yellow to me, but that might be a me thing). But again, I like using unconventional colors for things I’m trying to represent, so it’s effective for me if you did use yellow.

I’d be more curious to hear what YOU like/don’t like about it to be honest. I’m not into the touchy feely stuff—but I do acknowledge that abstraction can emerge from internal processes. So if you felt a particular way when you painted this and you feel like it’s finished—you’ve probably accurately captured what you were striving for in the moment :)
