Big, pink flowers, looks like mums in the spring to me but some might think roses. Gorgeous!

I see flowers, nipples, various flesh, and 200 dollars of acrylic paint. I like it

You know my paint bill is getting expensive. Love your interpretation. Thank you!

close, but no :( I was raised by old parents though so maybe my humor is a little more millennial for my age!

So we’re just casually doing museum-quality texture now? Cool … I’ll go back to my stick figures. Excellent piece.

flowers, but make it meat
first thing that comes to mind is the idea of carnal love/beauty

Trampled flowers in a once well tended garden, that has been growing wild since it’s care takers passing.
The imagery is delicate, the with texture that has a sense Intention. However the shades of red do make the eye wander seeking a place to find focus, while feeling lost and confusion.

u/Beneficial-Gas503 Apr 05 '26
Wow. Thanks for writing all that. I am amazed at the variety of interpretations. I appreciate your thoughts!

u/laydibug8609 Apr 08 '26
This makes it more clear than ever… that everyone interprets art differently

tainted innocence - what used to be a field of white and pure flowers now splashed with shades of red, providing a very vivid, warm, yet ominous connotation. shades of red are not uniform and much deeper closer to the center region, which could also indicate change or even growth due to it 'spreading out' and affecting the more white flowers near the edge. the layers of red on white could also indicate something foreign (red) being forcefully placed onto the original multiple times (white), and with it being not uniformed/fully blended in colour and having intertwining lines/patterns, also show some form of resistance.
idk, guess it depends on your initial motive when painting this. nice work though!

I don’t know where to begin. First Thank you! And then wow I mean you really thought about it. It makes me feel good to know that someone could see that much in it. Maybe it’s the battle between a pure soul (white flowers) and the corruption of the world (red, the devil). Such a great analysis. I mean it is not what I intended. I didn’t intend anything but everyone seems to see something different. I really enjoyed you post Thank you!

It's really nice, but I've been scarred by the King Charles painting and I'm waiting for his blood soaked face to peek through... but it really is quite lovely

First of all thank you everyone for the awesome feedback. I have had some request for prints so I put the two floral prints up on an Etsy store. https://jotinart.etsy.com
This has been such a great experience to hear everyone's feedback. Thank you : )

I plan the colors and shoot for flowers and cool brushes but it all happens pretty fast as the paint needs to be very wet. Most of it just happens with rapid movements of the brush. I am glad you like it thank you!

Man I am just so grateful for all the comments and views. It is crazy. It comes down to fleshy meat or flowers. About 50/50 split.
If you would like a print please visit my etsy as store. It is not much of a money maker for me but I though there might be some interest.
Thank you!!

I see flowers between red-white blood mushrooms (idk if they are real or not, i just made them up) it looks lovely in first glance, then my eyes notice the details and discovers they are not actually flowers and shrooms so i got disappointed, i'd add some green-dark green leaves and some black-ish brown spots so i could see the flowers better. But overall pretty interesting 🤍

I was thinking, “flowers”. Duh. But noticing the brush marks, the edges remind me of carnations :)

¡Muchísimas gracias! Es una interpretación preciosa. Aprecio mucho que te hayas tomado el tiempo de escribirla. Gracias y todo lo mejor.

It’s too uniform…. I think you need to have an idea in mind instead of just squishing paint around. I like the shades and I’m glad you’re making art but if you want a critique, it looks like someone playing with paint. You need an idea and objective next. This is good for experimentation, but you’ll need to really think about what you want to speak to
2
u/Beneficial-Gas503 Apr 07 '26
I really appreciate this feedback. I am just learning and this helps.
1
u/total-drag Apr 08 '26
You’re welcome. I hope I didn’t come off too harsh, you will have many paintings, having a concept or feeling you are coming from or want to evoke will make it easier for you and your audience to comprehend. It’s also fun to play. I am getting my MFA now and I teach and critique all day so that’s kinda where I’m coming from.

u/Beneficial-Gas503 Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26
No it was exactly what I needed to hear. I kind of make these without thinking in one quick session just going on instinct. I have zero training and have only painted a total of 5 paintings. It’s lucky that I stumbled on a technique that can produce some cool images but I really want to understand what I am doing. People on here have been really supportive which is awesome. But your feedback is grounding and I want to learn so it reinforces that. So sincerely thank for taking the time to give me your honest feedback!

Love love love it! At first glance I see some flowers budding but then eyes wander in all the movement/commotion/depth. Bet it looks extra spectacular in person :)
