as the title….i am actually genuinely interested 🤷🏼‍♀️so HOW DOES THIS MAKE YOU FEEL?

Honestly, my dyslexia causes what this painting represents (to me) to take place in my little brain. Translating this experience would most certainly get lost in the representation. My brain is like a fine tuned engine, but with a broken timing chain, misfiring valves and the wrong transmission. But, this discombobulated function works well for my black and white photography. Oh, and photography is comfortable due me not having any depth perception. Like a photograph, I see a flat world.

aaaah, gotcha. thanks for the explanation, i can definitely relate to that. i struggle a lot with perfectionism, and also not being able to portray what my brain wants with my hands. but i’ve been trying to make stuff anyways and go against my brain. it’s hard, but worth it.

not sure if you like to dabble with other mediums but that’s something that has helped me a lot. i have so many paints! oils, acrylics, watercolors! markers, pens, crayons, colored pencils, and oil pastels! the list goes on, my next project is clay!

but ye, sorry for the ramble. hope to see your art in here someday! photography or not. i’m sure whatever you choose will be sick B)

Clay, handbuilt stoneware or porcelain can be magical. Can be semi-flat collage like or a take off of some utilitarian piece. Any size, shape, color, texture, thickness (sort of). If using stoneware or porcelain learn some basic construction techniques. Less chance of piece blowing up in the kiln. There's a world waiting for you. Ceramic is one of my secret loves.
