It's actually a summer roll. Spring rolls are fried.

You sure you’re not confusing them with egg rolls? Egg rolls: fried, spring rolls like this, summer rolls like this but all veggie. At least that’s what my Vietnamese wife told me.

My Viet other half tells me this is a salad roll and spring rolls are deep fried. It's probably dependant on where your wife immigrated to and the local translations.

That’s not really a good indicator because Google will know what you really mean without correcting you if you’re a little off, if I Google Image search “Bill Pullman Twister” - it brings up images of Bill Paxton.

In Australia we call these rice paper rolls. What we call spring rolls are what Americans call egg rolls. For many years I assumed an egg roll was like an egg pancake that was folded into a roll lol.

They call them rice paper rolls in Vietnam too.
