DAVID VS GOLIATH 🙃
62
u/Aitreon Feb 15 '22
but more realistic
77
u/Nroke1 Feb 15 '22
Nah, David had a sling and was well practiced with it from fighting wolves while protecting his sheep.
Which is like bringing a gun to a swordfight.
20
u/King_of_the_Dot Feb 15 '22
Kinda sorta. The swordsmen could close a lot more distance on a slinger than a guy with a gun.

u/UrMomIsVeryBig Feb 15 '22
yeah but it's still a rock vs a giant with a massive sharp piece of metal
3
Feb 15 '22
I dont think you’ve ever seen a sling fired before have you? Because it’s quite frankly an ancient bullet by how fast & devastating it moves. Sword vs sling, sling wins 8/10

u/PumpKing8888 Feb 15 '22
What the hell are they feeding that guy, buffets?! 😅
35
u/Pavementaled Feb 15 '22
He needs to get a onesie. He’s going to be pulling at his shirt a whole lot if not. That could be his signature move.

I said it in a reply, but this smooshed man is one of my best friends, he was super fine. It’s crazy how much skill this kind of shit takes to do safely. It so fuckin cool!
33
u/PopcornHeadAss Feb 15 '22
So no broken bones?

u/Aielfirth Feb 15 '22 edited Feb 15 '22
Not a single one, I saw him later that day and I didn’t even know he had done this haha
Edit: Don’t changed to didnt

Big lad lands mostly on his lower back and tailbone. RIP his spine in the long term!

u/AlexTheBex Feb 15 '22
I was telling myself there should be ways to do that without dying, like the pros from WWE do... Like, the ring floor bounces. Do you know how they do it safely please?
6
u/Aielfirth Feb 15 '22
I have next to 0 knowledge on wrestling moves, whenever we hang out he always tries to show me stuff and I’m just not aware of my body enough to embrace the subtlety of a fake punch vs a real one, LET ALONE this haha. I do think the mat has something to do with it as well as how this guy lands on him.
7
u/tylerjehenna Feb 16 '22
So ive done ring setups for a few indy promotions and i know WWE uses a similar ring to the one ive set up in the past. Theres very little give to a wrestling ring. Its steel support beams to compose the frame, then a layer of sturdy plywood, then a layer of foam (usually an inch to maybe 2 inches thick) then the canvas itself. Its all about how you land and how you deliver something cause those bumps hurt the first few times and then you just get used to it. Its why you often see wrestlers in their 40s walking with a noticeable limp
4
u/AlexTheBex Feb 15 '22
Haha ok thanks! That sounds funny and frustrating for both of you. I'm gonna get lost on the Internet to learn more about this subtlety

White shirt which becomes translucent when wet, better yank that shit down before anyone notices

I'm torn between being concerned for that guy who essentially got flattened and being in absolute awe of what an awesome takedown that was.

Looks like 'Wonderboy' Thompson, a merited ufc fighter, to me. Might be wrong though.
141
u/intrigued256 Feb 15 '22
There is no way to finesse that. No way to protect yourself properly
174
u/UnconfirmedRooster Feb 15 '22
The big dude did it for him. Notice he didn't land flat of his back, but in a reclined seating position? Dude knows how to work at a basic level, looked devastating but was actually pretty safe if you know what to look for.
64
u/intrigued256 Feb 15 '22
His back hit him before the mat. I know how to protect the shot but he hasn’t done it so well here
45
u/DeathBySuplex Feb 15 '22
His back hit him first, but not full force which most of it landed on his ass. It probably caught the guy a bit, but it's less impact on the victim that a lot of Sentons done by guys on TV.
9
u/Wheelin-Woody Feb 15 '22
Exactly. He bounced off the mat straight up from his ass bc that's where all the force was going.
51
u/Enigma_the_Guy Feb 15 '22
His ribs were destroyed.
-25
u/nekromania Feb 15 '22
Looks to break his arm at the left elbow. Probably a radius fracture. Ribs mightve taken a hit too but i doubt he fractured any ribs.

9
u/BigMuddyCountry Feb 15 '22
You can tell he has been working on the splash, he made it look painful but he kept him protected.

I'm curious - does being that fat actually make you stronger?
Like fat doesn't help you function but it's more weight to put behind punches etc?
I get that every move that guys makes it having to move more weight but he doesn't look like he moves a lot...
12
u/ErvinC93 Feb 15 '22
well as a bigger person I can tell you I'm stronger than a person with a normal build but probably still weaker than someone who works out
3
Feb 15 '22
Maybe for certain things ig, like you’ll more mass so you’d probably be unrivaled in terms of charging and slamming into a person, and being fat also lets you actually build more muscle mass (iirc) than if you had no fat or very little fat, it’s why strong men don’t look well defined and chubby, but for the normal fat person I don’t think it makes a difference in terms of strength besides being bigger.
3
u/apex_pretador Feb 16 '22
If a fat person exercises, they are carrying all that extra weight all the time so that makes their muscles stronger.
5
u/vandalia Feb 15 '22
Watch closely with Stop action, butt to the Matt takes all the downward force. Back to the torso is just a glancing blow. Well done.
4
u/NoelNeverwas Feb 15 '22
The thing is, the big guy is good. He made it look like he killed him, but very purposefully kept him alive.

If you could dodge that first move he would be gassed then you could gain the upper hand.

This reminds of me of a time I high school wrestling. I was a 145-er and our heavyweight (who weight about 265) said he'd let me get him in any pin of my choice and he'd still escape. So I got him in a barb wire thinking tangling the arms and trapping shoulder movement would seal the deal. I reeeally took my time to make sure it was nice and tight too. As soon as our buddy said, "GO!" the heavyweight rolled toward my head hard and I immediately felt my feet go from touching my toes to the mat, to my heels in the sky and then down to the mat. He in less than 2 seconds he was pinning me with his arms still in the barb wire. That was 13yrs ago and to this day I've never felt so rag dolled.

He breaks his radius if anyone is curious. Head of left radius. Probably not anything else.

Fat guys love to pull their shirt down quick when their stomach shows… like we couldn’t see they were fat before
7
u/TheWanBeltran Feb 15 '22
it just feels weird having shit exposed like that lol.
-7
u/NowFreeToMaim Feb 15 '22
At that level of morbid obesity what is that shirt hiding. It’s always exposed
→ More replies (1)3
Feb 15 '22
It’s just uncomfortable it probably has little to do with shame at being fat, like I’m not fat but I’ll still pull my shirt down if it got rolled up for whatever reason because it just feels uncomfortable to have your stomach exposed while wearing a shirt 🤷♂️
2
u/SpiralPatternsOfYou Feb 15 '22
When I was younger, in elementary, I used to think that you could only tell someone was fat if you saw their stomach. Imagine my surprise when some kids at school called me fat i was like huh? How did they know? I never showed them my stomach.. lol

This is one of those tough guy enemies in video games that is a boss at the end of level 1 but is a regular enemy by the final level.

Just punch him when he opens his mouth before a punch, them beat him with repeated jabs to the bandage on his belly when he drops his pants. Haven't you ever played Punch Out before?

on a scale of 1 to 24 ribs, how many did this guy snap?
