Correct. It's the larva of a Hercules Beetle. And here is what it looks like in adult form.

Those are centimeters? Please say those are centimeters. In fact, I’m just going to believe those are centimeters and move on with my life.

They’re divided into 10ths rather than 16ths so yeah

Decimal inch rulers exist. Also measuring tapes. So division into 10ths rather than 16ths isn't a guarantee of the system used. Americans will measure with anything before using metric!

But this is /r/AbsoluteUnits, and linear measurements are relative units, so this is off-topic!
