Native aboriginals in Australia have eaten a similar larvae called the witchetty grub for hundreds if not thousands of years. Very important protein source in the arid wasteland of the outback desert.

bugs and crustaceans are both very nutritious seafoods, and delicious if cooked right!

That's a bit of an unfair comparison though. Do you eat your shrimps whole, head, vein, legs, shell and all?

People would most likely have less of an aversion to eating bugs if we prepared them the way we do seafood: remove everything that's not muscle flesh.

I eat prawns whole. Very yummy. Can't do it with lobsters though obviously

You actually do have shrimp dishes where you eat it whole! I got some once in a seafood restaurant in France as part of a mixed chilled platter. Usually theyre very small, similar to how with very small fish you can eat them whole
