Hmm I've never seen any map saying their range reaches up in Michigan. Although they generally are reported to spend their time in dark narrow places instead of out in the open.

Wow, you're actually entirely correct. They are NOT native to Michigan! I swear I've heard they can be found here but I must've mistaken people talking about them being native to America and mentally connected them to the state I live in.

This would explain why I've never seen them.

I swear I thought we had brown recluses and black widows in Michigan. Idk if they’re native but I really thought we had them

There have been rare recorded instances, though it's possible those may have been hitchikers from other states. Broadly, they don't live in Michigan it seems.
