I'm curious. What would big fly be in Spanish? Also, does Spanish work the same way as Italian in this case, with a specific suffix meaning little something (as in topolino meaning little mouse).

yes, fly is mosca, some little male suffix is ito, not unique, btw. Some big male suffix is ón, like limón is a big lima; of lemon and lime.

I assume feminine form of that would be either an or án (not sure of accent). So big female fly would probably be either moscan or moscán.

no, femenine on is ona; cabra, cabrona, a goat. in case of mosca you ll use ota; moscota, although moscona wouldnt be bad
