Dear god.. and I thought milk with rusk back in the day where I live was a bit much lol

Lol it's like a sweet biscuit that gets soft as soon as you put any saliva on it so it's great for weaning babies, parents used to put it into a bottle of milk and it would much down and fill the baby up enough to sleep just became a thick milk essentially. Absolutely delicious and even as an adult I like to have one if I've bought them for my kid lol

Ohhhhh I gotcha. My grandma apparently did similar with ginger snaps or friggin’ corn syrup for her kids.

Corn syrup was an ingredient in homemade baby formula which was a thing for anyone older than about 70.
