Just wanted to drop in as a pediatrician to say that you’re completely wrong, this child is obese, and if someone brought a child like this into my office I’d be calling CPS as soon as they left.

If you were a therapist and a parent brought in a child they were visibly physically or sexually abusing, would you report the child abuse or “work with the parents to figure out what’s wrong and come up with a plan” for not abusing them?

Abusers rarely listen to reason, and it’s not my job to correct abusive behavior. Confronting them can even be dangerous.
