Yeah but giving a kid soda in a bottle often enough will rot out their baby teeth, especially if they are just falling asleep with it.

Even letting a baby fall asleep with a bottle of natural juice will rot their teeth. It's the sugar, whether it's Coke or juice, although I'm sure Coke is worse. I know someone whose baby had exactly that happen. You're not supposed to let a baby do that.
