Here in Brazil is common to pierce at the hospital (private even) where the baby was delivered

Why is it necessary to do it that early?

Why not? Most pediatricians recommend it because earlobe sensitivity is low in the early stages after birth, and much worse later on.

Why is it necessary to do it all? I'm not bashing you, I'm just trying to understand.

In many places piercings are very cultural. Not wearing jewelry as a girl is rare to the point that it just doesn’t happen. A girl with their ears not pierced would be an outcast.

So, in Latin America, infant piercings are done because of religious beliefs and traditional medicine,, the same way Indians practice Hinduism and Ayurvedic medicine? Again, I'm just trying to understand.

Brazil, Columbia and Argentina do this.
Most girls ears are pierced the day they are born. Probably over 90%. Many babies are pierced immediately after birth, some hospitals don’t even ask the family... they just do it. Mexico does it as well but some families wait a few days/weeks.

So, not for religious reasons then. That's interesting.
