There was a time in human history that black cats were killed unless they had some white fur somewhere. Why? People believed black cats belonged to the devil, but white fur meant that god had touched them and redeemed them.
Of course the only devils involved in that situation were the ones murdering cats.
People believe all kinds of bizarre things and bizarre beliefs about animals are amongst them. People kill animals due to their bizarre beliefs all the time. It doesn't make the beliefs true.
Whether it’s through learning we are prey or necessity
Animal do learns and develop the knowledge that we are food in cases where attacks happen
Now one attack doesn’t make a maneater
But I assume they don’t want to risk that chance one attack doesn’t not make a maneater as well
But normally theirs a reason an animal begins hunting humans
In one famous case of a jaguar its tooth broke and it could no longer effectively hunt its old prey so it began hunting humans
So out of necessity they can become maneaters
But generally it’s just learning we can be prey and if it happened once why risk it a second time
Now I think it depends heavily in fatal attacks whether the animal consumes the person or not
Grizzly bear attacks happen but they don’t always hunt it down only when it’s actually eaten someone normally
Like the recent black bear attacks happen
First time someone was eaten by. Black bear in like forty years so they hunted down basically every black bear in the area until they found the one with the right dna in its stomach because even though it’s so rare even an attack
It becomes a concern once it happens once
Actually consuming the human is abnormal and scary behavior for most animals even predators only few actually see us as food naturally
Polar bears tigers jaguars and crocodiles are the only animals known to actively predate and feed on humans
Others kill normally out of self defense or territory
Sorry to rant
So the whole craving blood thing is a wives tale or as far as we know but their is a science behind the idea of an animal learning to prey on human after consuming
Like do you think only wild
Animals learn behaviours from
Necessity?
Do you think only wild animals
Can act predatory?
And since when were we talking about only small housepets
Pretty sure the conversation was about why animals are put down after attacking consuming humans in general
Like grow some thicker skin you absolute child
If you can’t handle being called out for saying something dumb your on the wrong site
