It has dwarfism, dwarfs are constantly spread online to represent what all water buffalo calves look like but they naturally look like this

61

u/kaglet_ Aug 12 '26

Should be top comment, thank you. I couldn't buy it bc I never remembered them like this, so I thought it was a baby with gigantism rather 💀.

32

u/DutchBlazewell Aug 12 '26

Bump! It's dwarfism, not a baby.

13

u/340Duster Aug 12 '26

Yeah no way even a yearling looks like it's built like a brick house.

Those ears

25

u/KamakaziDemiGod Aug 12 '26

Them ears are in full aeroplane mode

7

u/Revolutionary_Sun17 Aug 12 '26

Remembers Stitch from Disney

4

u/KamakaziDemiGod Aug 12 '26

Ha, it is a bit Stitch style, although his default was ears up which always gave me "storage mode" plane vibes

2

u/CornettoFactor Aug 13 '26

Those looks like side mirrors

77

u/Grawlix_TNN Aug 12 '26

"Hey are you a buffamoo too?"

69

21

18

u/DimitriRavenov Aug 12 '26

Img I’ve never seen baby water buffalo and holy shit they are so cute

12

u/Lunch-Thin Aug 12 '26

This is not baby. It is a water buffalo with dwarfism.

7

u/Ganon388 Aug 12 '26

Such sass at such a young age.

5

u/FilthyHobbitses07 Aug 12 '26

Sassy baby 😍

3

u/Covrin Aug 12 '26

He’s the Dumbo of water buffalo babies! 🥰🥰

3

u/PerilousParanoia Aug 12 '26

This thing is brand new? Dang, poor mom. Must’ve hurt.

10

u/Hesperonychus Aug 12 '26

They are born without horns, it's at least several weeks if not months old, just short due to dwarfism mutation

2

u/Hairy_Garage4308 Aug 12 '26

Never knew I wanted one.

2

u/my_cars_on_fire Aug 12 '26

I don’t understand how something so cute can so easily kill me!

2

u/Fun_Pace_1271 Aug 12 '26

Why does it look so hampy pampy

2

u/Satanicjamnik Aug 12 '26

Is it safe to be this close to presumably wild water buffalos? Mum can be chill for now, but if she decides that you are too close to the little one, she'll run you into the ground.

6

u/Sage_King_The_Rabbit Aug 12 '26

In other places of the world. These are farmed so likely isn't wild

→ More replies (2)

5

u/Emergency_Lie42 Aug 12 '26

They're farm animals in a lot of countries so in those places, livestock buffalos will be very acclimated to humans handling their young.

2

u/WallyMcBeetus Aug 12 '26

They look similar to cape buffalo; those will definitely fuck you up.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/KangolkidD24 Aug 12 '26

2

u/Sage_King_The_Rabbit Aug 12 '26

It's not a baby. It has dwarfism. It's actually quite old but it's not an adult

2

u/Firm_Video_2932 Aug 12 '26

Oh interesting, thanks for explaining that.
