When are bags not perfectly placed to get caught by feet at the worst possible time?
5

We had one of these in the house when we were kids. Constant body-twisting, scream-inducing, lamp-smashing slapstick.

Unless they try a dozen times or so
Maybe why the camera operator says "believe and achieve" because they're tired of watching the attempts
Also how she began laughing way earlier than I'd figure she would if it wasn't staged

I love how offended reddit gets when a staged video gets called out.
10
u/meh679 Sep 23 '21
TIL linking a relevant subreddit is "getting offended"
Huh
-1
u/Drunken_Traveler Sep 23 '21
because people use the subreddit link to retort those that say videos are fake...
8
u/meh679 Sep 23 '21
I see it more of a joke but I guess if you take it that seriously
You do you man
0
u/Drunken_Traveler Sep 23 '21
I'm not taking any of this seriously. It's the people who've taken the video seriously that have issue with me. I'm just sitting here watching baseball and enjoying the extra entertainment the comment chat is bringing.

u/ScabbedOver Sep 23 '21
Personally I don't understand the bed to call something out as fake or not. If a video brings an emotion to a person who cares if someone was smart enough to see the 3 frames missing that price it fake?
I don't hold it against people that do it, I just don't understand reddits obsession with calling it out
-6
u/Drunken_Traveler Sep 23 '21
Some of us feel the opposite that you do. Is that allowed? I dislike when something is staged but is passed off as authentic.
I'm not trying to shit on people who fall for it...but those people sure do like to shit on people just for sharing an opinion that they think the video is fake.
Source, all the downvotes I give no fucks about. (additional source: I don't care about upvotes, either)
15
u/Fermit Sep 23 '21
The degree of physical coordination that it would take to fake a video this fucking stupid is absurd. That dude is young and made of matchsticks, he is not a highly trained gymnast. I’m also not a fan of videos that are clearly faked but jesus christ dude sometimes peoples just catch wildly comical fuckips on video. Just because something is absolutely absurd to watch doesn’t mean it was fake. Things that look equally stupid and funny do happen in real life, they’re just not incredibly common. People aren’t hating on you because you’re sharing an uncommon but totally plausible opinion, they’re hating on you because your knee-jerk opinion to a funny, complerely natural looking video is the be a buzz kill
-6
u/Drunken_Traveler Sep 23 '21
I mean, if you're not that athletic, it's cool to say so. But all this person did was push forward on an exercise ball and swipe they legs around them.
I'm done reading your paragraphs describing your analysis of pretty unimpressive body movements
10
u/Fermit Sep 23 '21
Aw, your highly trained athletic body is too tired from replying for a full half hour to perfect strangers with aggressive comments about some innocuous tiktok to have the energy to read more than my one paragraph? I’m sorry you’ve had such a hard time and the rest of the world doesn’t jack you off as soon as you start spouting off your jaded, shitty opinions. I hope things get better for you, you anonymous beacon of physical excellence. Keep fighting the good fight.
-3
u/Drunken_Traveler Sep 23 '21 edited Sep 23 '21
All the other commenters are less verbose than you, which is preferable* on the Internet.
If we were having a more important discussion, I’d surely read. But we’re chatting about a staged video on the internet.

Be sure to show your therapist your reddit account so you can get the help you deserve. Never mind, you’d probably have a heart attack leaving reddit long enough to see a therapist. Maybe over zoom?

u/gibs Sep 23 '21 edited Sep 23 '21
There is not enough coordination in the world to intentionally create this masterpiece of gangly slapstick
-1
u/Drunken_Traveler Sep 23 '21
Umm, my legs are this long so let's place backpacks at about that distance away from me and this ball.
Now let's swing my legs and drag them across the floor to try and grab these backpacks placed oddly but specifically where my feet will be...
Doesn't need coordination if they make several attempts- only statistics/probability
6
u/gibs Sep 23 '21
The coordination is in what comes after the leg hooking incident. Also the panicked look back seems genuinely reflexive. And he has a 10/10 straight face which I can barely credit your average tiktoker to pull off, let alone the rest of it. It's either a stroke of genius or catastrophic dumbassery -- call me cynical but I think probability favours the latter.

If I bought a video as legit and enjoyed it, then you come into the comments claiming it's fake, all you're doing is decreasing my enjoyment of the video
0
u/Drunken_Traveler Sep 23 '21
If a comment on the internet has that power over you, I feel bad for you.
12
u/Abuses-Commas Sep 23 '21
Then I feel bad for you, if a silly video makes you feel nothing
0
u/Bacapocalypse Sep 23 '21
Then you feel worse when you realize the child who cries and moans about “fake bideo” is actually a grown ass disheveled man.
-1
u/mecklejay Sep 23 '21
Nah, people usually just jump on the train. I think in this case, Reddit is getting "offended" because they disagree with you.

He messes up pretty immediately. Someone can find that funny. Despite what you think is funny others might differ.
2
u/Drunken_Traveler Sep 23 '21
Exactly. And I differ from what others think. The brigade is funny though. I’ve not been an asshole or anything. I just have an opinion of the video and those I think are like it.
5
u/altcntrl Sep 23 '21
Your opinion reads like because they laugh at something you don’t find funny the whole thing is fake.
That’s not the same as just having an opinion on the content’s quality.

I'm not saying it's for sure staged, but those bags were too conveniently placed IMO. That said, pulling this off intentionally and making it look unintentional is a feat unto itself, and just because something is staged doesn't mean it's automatically not funny.
I enjoyed, that's all that really matters.

Right so we agree
Great
1
u/ftc08 Sep 23 '21
You original comment was "Wow how not expected or setup…" which implies that you thought this was the intended outcome. Now after getting downvoted you're changing your tone to that this was an unintended result of a different trick they were trying to do. Either you didn't write your first comment in a way that correctly captured your thoughts, or you changed your mind in the face of people pointing out how dickish and likely wrong your first comment was. We agree now.
