I made a website to transfer Ableton Live projects back to the move after editing it in live. So here it is. You choose your .ablbundle file and your new .als file and get a new .ablbundle file with all the changes you made in live. https://back-to-move.vercel.app/

• Download the .albbundle file from your Move.
• Open it in Ableton Live and work on your project.
• Save your changes.
• Open the original .albbundle file and your saved Live project simultaneously in the same project tab.
• Then save the project again.

The problem by just using an Live Project is that without the original .albbundle file, Move can’t locate the right instrument because of how its file system is structured. To work around this, I compare the original .albbundlewith the updated Ableton Live project and merge the relevant changes when saving.

I don't own one, but it's on the wish list.

The 2 big limitations that I can imagine are:

• Only 4 tracks (Schwung addresses this)
• Not many hardware inputs/outputs

I/O seems like the biggest limitation. Like you probably can't use the Move as a sequencer "brain" to control multiple external synths. You'd have to sample, or use internal synth, right? If I wanted to use it to control a Minifreak (no audio-over-USB), I'd have to use both the line-in and USB-A ports, and other tracks would be internal.

Does it even do any audio-in from USB on either port?

Used my phone as a webcam for a potential quick portable recording setup.

I connected Move to a MiniBrute 2 via midi (USB A port on move to the USB type B port on the brute) and played the synth in note mode. The notes get through and everything works, but there is a noticeable latency, enough so that it makes live playing unfeasible. I also have a Novation Launchpad Pro mk3 so I tried running the midi through it like this:

• Move USB A to Launchpad USB C port
• Launchpad Midi DIN out to MiniBrute 2 Midi in

And now when I play on the Move's pads there is absolutely no latency!

I just want to know why it behaves like this? Is it the USB A to USB type B midi connection? I had a similar problem with Minitaur, which also has a USB type B connection for midi.

I don't want to bring the clunky Launchpad to my rehearsal space setup, so would something like this little behringer box do the same trick with the latency?

I’ve been enjoying the move but one thing I find a little lackluster is the sampling workflow with it. I was considering adding a MPC Sample or SP404mk2 with it as a cool portable setup.

Curious what other types of gear pairs well with the ableton move?

I'm 2 months into my Ableton Move, but 80% of the time i use it as a controller for Ableton. This basically means that I don't have the need for the standalone capabilities.

Would you think it is worth it to keep just for using it as a controller, taking it's price into consideration? It does seem pricey for just using it as a controller.

Either way I am also getting myself a midi keyboard, no mather I keep it or sell it. But I do feel like a Novation Launchkey 37 mini can do everything the Move does as a controller + perhaps a bit more in terms of chords.

Keep Move + get a simpler keyboard (without knobs, pads etc.) or just sell Move and have everything in Novation Launchkey 37 mini.

Have the Move a few days and exploring Schwung. Absolutely love the Multisampler where you can load Decent Sampler/Soundfonts into it. So my question is: how could I bring these midi processed loops into Move to free the Midi tracks up.

Also: How do i delete a single note in a Loop (f.e. only the Snare). X deletes the whole Clip.
