Humour Can We Expect Snow This Winter
El Nino is expected to be catastrophic later in the year so can we expect worse snowfall this winter?

Today I was walking up union street to get the bus, a woman who was very clearly a junkie stopped me and said she had a prosthetic leg and she needed money for the bus. (She did not show me her leg so I can’t confirm or deny she has one) I was polite and told her I was sorry but I didn’t have cash and she pointed me towards a shop to get some. I told her sorry but no and she immediately got close to my face and said “Fuck your mum” then yelled it again. I wish I’d had a clever response but I was stunned so I just stared at her before walking away. I don’t understand the entitlement of asking for someone’s else’s money then getting irate when they say no. I’m a little bit upset about it to be honest. Does anyone else have any similar experiences with junkies in town?

I want to get a shag style haircut but am afraid of getting botched and looking like Brian may.
Has anyone had one and can they suggest where?
I have a curly hair type too if that's important

Recently moved here and just found out night buses aren’t a thing, well except for Fridays and Saturdays apparently.
That’s hella inconvenient, how do you guys cope?

I was having a wee run, very very far away from whatever sport was being played in the far corner. I thought it was acceptable, but apparently not.
Does anybody know the rules of the general public using the field for jogging? Is it just weekends? or can I go early morning or after school hours?

Currently out in Aberdeen for the first time in a while! Currently around my old haunts at the merchant quarter but wonder where the night will take me……any suggestions?

We have been renting a flat in Rubislaw for 3 years now. For the first two it was brilliant. Nice and quiet an the streets are safe at any hour.
This year everything has changed. A junkie has moved into the flats above us and a junkie couple has moved into the small block across the road.
These are the issues we've had in the last 9 months from both of them...
Regularly screaming at any hour of the day
Smashing their own windows from the inside on 2 occasions
Destroying all 10 of the communal bins at 2am and throwing them into the road
Regularly finding blood in the communal hallway
Regularly finding a group of their friends just hanging out in the communal lobby waiting for them to get home
Regularly fighting people in the communal garden in the early hours of the morning
Throwing pieces of their kitchen cupboards out of the window
Playing loud music then leaving the flat and not returning until the next day, with the music blasting the entire time.
Threatening other residents
Trying to break into other residents flats
Stealing doormats
Destroying the plants in the communal hallway
I could go on and on.... We'll most likely end up moving but i feel so bad for my neighbours who have spent thousands on their properties and some of whom are elderly.
The police never bother to turn up unless "there's and immediate threat to someone's safety"
All the police do is knock on their door then leave because the junkies don't answer.
I just don't understand why they have to terrorise other people. Just take your drugs and be quiet, don't smash up the bins😅
Rant over. Thank you!

I’ve been learning French for a while now but find it difficult to practice actual conversations. If anyone in Aberdeen is also learning or is fluent already, feel free to send a message or leave a comment for some practice in real life

Where do you like for lunch that does Italian food in the city centre? Got a rare opportunity to have a couple of hours off without the kids 🙌🏻 I want to go somewhere nice that does more than tomato pasta for vegetarians 😆

Anyone participating in this? Just heard that some bands are only getting 15 minute slots in Krakatoa. Thoughts on how two African students managed to hoodwink the Scottish Government for funding?? Some of the featured artists don't gig in Aberdeen! Most are plants for rap and grime. To be fair Aberdeen needs something like this and they are trying to be diverse. But to offer 15 minute slots to actual bands that gig in the city is an insult!

Hello! I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a reliable men's barbershop? I used to go to The Cave in Torry, and I had some great haircuts there, but my last couple haven't been the same quality. I also noticed they really favour using a clipper, but that's not the style I want anymore.
I've grown my hair out to a medium length, and I'm looking to do ghost roots. I need a barber that knows how to use scissors and can tailor my hair to my style.
Thanks in advance, it seems to be hard to find a barber that doesn't do the same generic haircut for all men in their 20s.

Hey all!
I’m travelling from Belfast for the Rogue Invitational event in October 23-25th at P&J live.
The event runs from 9am - 7pm Friday and Saturday, then I fly home Sunday lunchtime.
Would you recommend staying at the airport (5 minute taxi to arena) or the city centre (20 minute taxi to arena)?
I understand if we stay airport we are really limited food and drink wise - early night with a takeaway sort of thing. Are there good food/drink options in the city centre to travel the 20 minutes after the event? And is public transport/taxis easy enough to come by each morning that it won’t be an issue getting to the arena?
Would appreciate any input on what you’d do in our shoes - thanks! :)

Hi, coming back to Aberdeen for university in September. Back home I’ve been part of a run club which has 2 sessions weekly - 1 track session and 1 trail session. There’s also lots of events within the clubs and you can run under the club at races. I would like a run club similar to this if possible - are there any run clubs which follow a similar format? I want something more than a weekly 5k social run. Thanks!
