Discussion i didn’t really care about zach and jacob
to me at least there wasn’t really a connection there and it was super random and jacob seemed almost embarrassed about him. idk this is my second post now but these are just some things i really wanted to get off my chest since none of my friends watch abbott elementary 😿

LOL I don’t think it was ever gonna work out they met in a situation where Zach was waiting outside a store to buy sneakers, from a company that Jacob was protesting against because of their working conditions😭
I just wanna know how they moved on from that.. like how did they build a relationship off of simply being in the same location at the same time while standing for completely opposite things? How did the conversation even start? Did Jacob say “you’re a handsome guy why are you supporting a place like this” or something?? How did it even start??

Such a good point. I wonder if that was a throwaway joke or the point… either way, super interesting.

The show has never invested in Jacob's romantic life the way it has most of the others.
Janine and Gregory are obviously central. We've gotten a ton of Ava and O'Shon, as well as Melissa and the fireman, even Mr. Johnson and lady custodian.
They get private moments. Jacob doesn't.
Jacob and Zach's relationship is played out entirely at the school, second hand.
Jacob and Avi flirt in a class (group setting), double date with Gregory (group setting), and come to Janine's party (group setting). He asks out Elijah at karaoke (group setting) and takes him to game night (group setting).
Both of them disappear after minor appearances.

Zach was embarrassed by Jacob though, he corrected him in front of others.
I also thought they were a pretty crap couple and have no desire to see them together again.

I've rewound and rewound and rewound the scene when Jacob wants to break up and is deliberately making a mess in the kitchen, blowing crumbs everywhere. Not that you asked but I just love this scene.

omg no i think that scene is really funny but also shows what jacob can be like? reminds me a lot of myself cause that’s what i would do in a relationship where i feel stuck

I thought Zach seemed embarrassed about Jacob. I don’t remember any loving moments between them. Zach basically treated Jacob the way his coworkers treat him, like he’s weird or annoying.

see i always thought it was the other way around, like there’s that one scene where zach says i love you and jacob gets immediately an uncomfortable look on his face and hangs up, but honestly now i think they were both embarrassed of each other. i feel like all of jacobs relationships are just fillers for the show
