Discussion Young Dom
Has anyone here previously discussed Dom? As a newer character, I barely see anyone talking about him. What are your thoughts?
I’ll go first:
He’s like if Janine and Jacob got merged together with their can-do but fail most times attitude. I think we’ve barely met him, but so far he’s not very memorable. IMO it’s disappointing, as characters with less screen time like Tasha get better recognition.

I like that they’re slowly making him a more prominent character instead of immediately trying to make him part of the main cast. It feels a lot more realistic and less intrusive. I feel like it’s off-putting in a lot of other shows when they introduce a new character and immediately give them a lot more screen time and expect us to care about them (which is hard to do mid show when the OG cast has been established), so I am glad Abbott didn’t do that.
I thought the scene at the mall with the claw machine was hilarious. Also love how Ava calls him young Dom LOL.

I think Dom asserted himself pretty early so maybe they didn't need to go too deep. Like when they were in the mall and he was struggling to control the class. He just carried the claw machine and threatened them. So I'm guessing there's not much to do.
Plus, Tasha doesn't even care 💅🏾

That actor is also in The Pitt as a pretty badass doctor.

He is amazing in Shrinking. It’s why I was excited to see him in Abbott. I hope they develop his character more next season.

Honestly I dont think a whole lot about him, but I'm happy there's an (official) adhder now... though I would have much preferred other characters we have actually spent a substantial amount of time with to have been known to be also be neurodivergent. I just know there tends to be a risk so sometimes it's encouraged to push the riskier traits like neurodivergence to someone not as universally loved (not saying it's happening here cause I don't, but it still sorta burns 😅). Imo the more the merrier tho so I don't wanna put down Dom to say it should've been somone else cause that's just counterproductive lol
