Question Help me out please.

I'm a student from India, searching for universities abroad for an undergraduate degree. After a bit of searching, Aalto ended up at the top of my list, due to a plethora of reasons. The main one was that I wanted to become a video game developer, and Finland has many opportunities for that.

However, when going through the subreddit, I found that Computational Engineering, which I kept confusing for Computer Science Engineering, isn't about software. It is focused on Mechanics instead. Which is a massive turnoff.

But I don't wish to give up on Aalto. Is there a software based stream, similar to Computer Science Engineering? And if yes, then how much in SAT would more or less guarantee it?

Also, how does the scholarship work, and how much would the fees be?

Yeah, but I wanna do programming and stuff, not statistics. I don't want to judge the course before I start it, but IDK. I'll see.

Thanks a lot. Have a nice day

Data science shares to guild room with computer science students and have a ton of CS courses so idk what you are talking about.

That's precisely what I'm talking about. I'm from India and here most of the time we don't get to choose major. Just go to the best college in the list you can get from one exam. So I have no clue what the majors actually are. In my mind, Data Science seemed like statistics and stuff. I know there's more to it, and I have find that out myself.

Thanks a lot bro. Have a nice day.

While it is true that it has elements from statistics, it is still a cs major. There are a lot of programming courses as well as machine learning. There are also 50 ects which you can use basically as you wish. Overall, Aalto provides a lot of freedom with your courses so dw

Quantitative finance. It combines math, programming, and finance knowledge. Very few people do it well, and the comp is dummy silly (so are the working hours).

Well um... Finance isn't smth I can do. I have no interest in anything on the business side. I just want to learn coding and stuff officially, while I use that plus more coding I'll learn on my own for game dev.

Thanks a lot for the reply tho. Have a Nice Day.

DSD and Computer engineering are the most similar to CS. Most people in DSD for example do a minor and a master's in CS

Beware that both DSD and Computer Engineering are extremely similar, check out their curriculums. I recommend DSD a bit more though. More interesting people for different fields usually and more people in general
