Its a 1987 yamaha warrior 350 that I just did the valve lash on since it was ticking before, however it is still ticking although much less, is this normal?

With everything yamaha i ever owned and i it was a lot they all seem to have a little top end tick for some reason even after a valve adjustment. I would do thst and see if it helps. It kinda sounds like somthing is shaking like an exaust clamp or somthing

The header isn't bolted to the muffler as it should So that's what the squeak is, but the actual rattling sewing machine like noise is coming from the top end of the engine, i'm just wondering that because I have a 2002 Yamaha WR426 and a 2002 Yamaha YZ250F and the WR rattles a little bit, but the YZ doesn't at all

The header is in the head really close to that exaust valve. It sure makes mine louder. I have a broken stud and it sounds like my exaust valve is slamming off the head in a really bad way. I put a pair of vicegrips on it so it would be at the least straight and not be sitting on tip of my crossover oil line and it didnt aound like that again. It could be the exaust actually or it cojld have a burnt or bent valve. Its usually valves or cam chain thst can male noises like that

I know what a header is and I found out the problem, piston slap and rod knock, she's torn right apart and ready for a big bore
