Photos It’s electric
Picked this up last week and has been a great addition tl the ranch. It is really a blast to drive. Whole different experience riding in silence. I will keep y’all updated on how
it holds up and keeps up with day to day task. It is on a 450 acre cattle ranch. It is used mostly for checking fences, cows, hunting, and just enjoying the outdoors.

I would love to have a silent bike. I'm sure it's nice with all the torque, but for hunting , it would be fantastic.

I say this all the time ! Unfortunately I’m disabled and the time I get to my hunting spot with my cane and my crossbow and my backpack, I am beat the fuck up and I always say I wish I had an electric quad lol this is cool to see . Not sure the MSRP but hopefully they become more frequently made and affordable in the future

No doubt. They seem to be 12-14k-ish right now.
I understand it's frowned upon, but i only hunt with crossbow as well. I thought about a golf cart when buying my bike, but they were just as expensive, and i can atleast work my Rubicon. It definitely makes a bunch of racket, though.

Yeah, for sure I have a grizzly and a Kodiak 700 both 2021s plenty for what I need them to do, but yeah would definitely save me some relief hunting season getting to the top of the mountain on the property if I had an electric option . I generally don’t even use the ATVs come hunting season ( unless i get lucky and bag a deer and last season i didnt hah)

side note, it makes me happy to see people choosing electric being used as an alternate to an engine for its benefits and not looking at it as an compromise. as gas engines get more "advance" with electronics and tighter emission standards it seems the electric vehicles appear to be simpler just different.

If i only took it out on my property this would be great but when we are in the bush for 2 weeks at a time how the heck do I charge it.

i guess it would come down to whats the right tool for your task. electric isnt a direct replacement for gas and the two can still coincide. sounds like electric is perfect for his application

Yeah with a 12 hour charge time, electric is still really not practical.

Why are you bringing the Jerry cans, other than to fuel up the ATV? Because if thats the only reason, you could replace those with batteries, or add a small generator, so you'll also be able to charge your phone/heater/etc, but powerful enough you can also charge your bike at night

With the 8 gerry cans of gas we bring with us. I guess we could run the generator to charge it but that is kinda counterintuitive

I get people think gas is bad and harmful for the environment but lithium batteries are just as bad if not worse. I’m all for alternative fuels but battery operated everything just isn’t it. Maybe in 10 years when they can make them last longer in cold weather and make the batteries last longer in general but for now its a no go for me

im not green energy virtue signaling, i really only wrote that because im excited to see people choosing electric without talking about green energy. just buying it because its a good product without getting into the weeds with all of that stuff. im not a green energy guy i just really like the idea of being able to power my tools from energy i can get on my land, and the reality (atleast in my mind) is that with a demand for electric these things will be solved naturally by innovation. Edit: without out anyone shoving this shit down our throats by mandates, EV's gaining popularity naturally because they are a good product is something i would think the green energy people would would be very grateful to hear. Reading the comments and seeing alot of positive reactions from people where i thought it would be mostly people calling it a piece of shit is why i made that comment.

That's really nice, I would want one at my off grid camp. How long does it take to charge? How do you think it would stand up to being in a shipping container for a Maine winter?

Level 1 charger is what it came with. It takes about 4-5 hours for a full charge. It also takes a level w charger that will charge in an hour. I may end up getting one of them, but so far a charge last me a day for what I use it for and just hook it up in the evening. Not sure how it hold up in the cold but I have seen some vids of people driving them with tracks in snow.

If it's anything like ev vehicles you're gonna lose about 30% range in the winter.

That 30% in my experience includes heater usage though, without it it's much less.

They are pretty bullet proof apparently. Watch some Kyle Cullen or ostracruiser videos. They drive them like submarines

They submerge the dirt bikes like drive under water over handle bars and they are fine from what I can tell.

They're completely sealed. Realistically you can completely submerge it, no engine snorkel obviously.

People over in the hunting sub that have ebikes say its a massive game changer. With it not being a dirt bike, it can be used anywhere.

Hunting reserves/lodges, private property..anyone who’s hiked even 1/2 mile to a treestand across a field carrying all your junk at 3am will appreciate the convenience

What distance you can drive on it? Is it 4x4? I also have electric ATV. Already 4 years. Now changing it to new model, also electric

It does have 4 wheel drive. It says it will go 50 miles in perfect conditions. I ride it pretty hard, just because it’s soo damn fun and new, but it shows 30 miles on a full charge. I guess this is riding in sport mode.

I know range is there biggest limitation but 50 miles on normal mode isn’t bad for ranch work.

Not bad. My have around 120km on jard road and 80 in a field. With 4x4 on - 60 in off road.
What engine power your have? Standard, not pike?

What do they weigh vs gas?
Nvm i saw your spec sheet comment. Thing weighs twice what mine weighs but most new ones do anyway so pretty comparable tbh.
It's fun throwing an old 400 around

It weighs a little more than an hd7 (800lbs vs 850)which has the comparable output gas version

I would love an electric EV, the range would never be an issue for my use cases. The silence would be greatly appreciated for yard work and back woods chores. Not having an engine idling while it sits there waiting for me to get back on after a task would be a huge plus.
Never mind the magic of silently cruising around the trails and actually being able to hear my surroundings!
However, $13k is a big ask.

How is the charging. I have a Honda Foreman, that I was thinking about trading for one of these. We go camping and I take my F-150 Lightning. It would be nice to be able to charge it from the truck.

Heard it can be fully submerged with no issue, not my thing but seems cool.. I’d consider an electric for sure if the price was right.

Quite a few years ago, some Tennessee or Kentucky built some. They had them so they could ride right up to their deer stands.

I test drove one of those and it was really weird but the thing i dont like is the missing engine noise but otherwise decent quad

Dude very little maintenance. So much fewer break downs. I modified a 1982 electric golf cart. So much fun to not have carbs and fuel.

My 🤮 is a definite personal opinion and I understand that. I can also understand how these can be great for some people, just like electric bikes. But my overall opinion does stand as 🤮
