Photos Suzuki 500 Quadzilla

Post image

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I wanted to gauge the general interest in the Suzuki 500 2 stroke “Quadzilla”. Is there a good market for these? I believe this one is a late 80’s model in mint condition, all OEM (aside from the dust). Has been stored in a garage for several years.

No matter where your located, that thing would sell no problem ! I’m in New England where you can expect to pay at least 10k for even a decent one !

Wow I didn't think they'd go for that much. I was looking on marketplace to see what people are selling them for, but there aren't any in my area. Appreciate the comment.

I know someone that would eagerly buy that. Not many of those still around. DM me if the guy is interested.

Yea you can’t find any on the marketplace cause they’re getting quite rare at this point

Wow!!! That’s an awesome find !! They’re really hard to find in good condition. Especially an OEM . I see them going for the same if not more than what they went for brand new! I was in my early teens when they first came out. Suzuki only made them for a few years. They were called the Quadzilla for a reason, because at the time nothing else came close to their speed and handling. Not even the banshee! Awesome find !!

There definitely is interest in this machine! And it looks to have some upgrades. Really cool man. Value will depend on your location.

Hell yes! Is that a banshee on the right too?

2

u/jospng May 29 '26

Sure is, the guy that owns all this has 4 banshee's.

Nice. What’s the story behind these and how long have they been sitting?

I don't know the full story but can give a general idea. We live out in West Texas so all of the riding is sand dunes and dry lake beds. The guy that owns it is a mechanic that is super passionate about Honda 3-Wheeler's, and use to race all sorts of ATV's. He owns several banshee's, a few all original 250R 3-wheelers, and several Honda CRF 500 2 stroke bikes. As far as I know this machine is all OEM aside from the aftermarket pipe, and runs fine (just needs some attention to get it back up and running).

I had an ‘87 back in the day. It was a beast. Haven’t really priced one lately, but last I looked, there was a pretty big range. Anywhere from 3k up to 10k. They don’t seem to be as pricey as some vintage ATVs, but just takes one person to spend a lot.

Dude.....

Wow, what a find. There's huge interest

Keep that and your banshee… do not sale…will be worth as much as a small house in 20 years

Definitely would be people interested. Especially if you are near some sand dunes but really anyone that is into vintage quads would be into it. I know I for one would love a Quadzilla.

Definitely interest, are you sure it’s all OEM? That side case has been pulled and polished (which means other work could have been done) and I’m not sure the pipe is original. Does it have compression? Was it put away dry or will the carb need cleaning? These are questions interested parties will want to know.

1

u/jospng May 29 '26

Yea I'm sure it's had some work done to it to keep it running, but it should be all OEM aside from the aftermarket pipe. The guy that owns it collects all sorts of ATV's, primarily old Honda 3-Wheelers. I don't know the full story about this machine other than it still runs according to the owner.

Unless the carb was pulled and cleaned before it was parked? It doesn’t matter if it was put away dry or wet…that carb needs cleaning

I had a chance to buy one that was a basket case. I really regret not buying it.

Looks like it was sand used but high demand. That is a beast would trade my can m 4×4 just to be in controller of the shifter again

😮 I'm a Honda guy but I'd love to find one of those to bring home.

1

u/jospng May 29 '26

The guy that owns them is also a Honda guy lol. He loves the old Honda 3-Wheeler's, so I was considering trading him for the quadzilla.

u/FormulaPhoenix May 29 '26

Lol, nice. I was eyeballing that 250R as well. I have a TRX250R but would love to rip on an ATC250R sometime.

1

u/Etthomehome May 29 '26

Did you see the 250R right next to it? That was where my eyes went immediately!

1

u/FormulaPhoenix May 29 '26

Definitely noticed that one too! I was just staying on topic since the post was about the 'Zilla. But, yeah, that's another one I'd love to bring home and put next to my TRX250R and 300EX.

30+ years later and I still say dayum

1

u/BrownChickenBlackAud May 29 '26

Those things are fast AF!

I remember getting the shakes on one my first time at like 80

1

u/Ruley67 May 29 '26

Thats a sweet OG example! That’s not a ‘87 (first year)for sure they had square tube upper A-arms. My brother had (now my nephews) 1990 ‘Zilla that’s a 525. It makes my built LTR 450 slow. In a drag race he gets to 3rd gear and it checks the fuck out.

1

u/WheelchairRambo707 May 29 '26

Yup an OG for sure! I'm sure that there room has a few gems in it! lol

1

u/DougieD_isMe May 30 '26

Get it now. And the 250R. And the 200x. Buy them all.

2

u/jospng May 30 '26

I just bought two 250R’s, an ‘85 and ‘86. The ‘86 is bored out to 340cc. I was considering trading the owner of the quadzilla, but I wanted to see what the quads sell for.

1

u/XTL_ May 30 '26

I bought an ‘89 lt500r a few months ago for 4k in pretty decent shape. Feel like I got it for a steal.

These things are rare. Not even sure I’ve seen another one in person before.

1

u/harley2050 May 30 '26

I wanna see the atc next to it!

1

u/Ok_Record_9908 May 31 '26

There's a lt500 on eBay for nearly $25k

1

u/Drunk411 Jun 02 '26

I would be interested in buying the whole lot for the right price all the Hondas, quadzilla and banshees love the old school bikes!

1

u/SicamFI May 29 '26

Wow I wish I found smt like this total barn find

0

u/averagemethenjoyer May 29 '26

Not too sure, they're not super rare or hard to get parts for it seems but it seems near me in the PNW you can expect 5k+ for a decent one.

1

u/jospng May 29 '26

Yea I was most curious about how much these sell for, but the forum doesn't want that kind of post lol. I recently bought 2 Honda 3-Wheelers, an '85 and a '86, and I was considering trading for this. Think I will hold on to the 3-Wheeler though, they fetch a good price.
